Roush-Fenway looking into buying Loudon

I forgot about Penske owning those tracks. I guess if I had thought about it at the time, I would have been against him owning those too.

How would Roush have a competitive advantage? Nascar still controls the testing.

How does NASCAR oversee the testing? They don't have someone positioned at every track at all times. It would be easy to get a few teams into the track for 2 hours without anyone (NASCAR) knowing about it.

Exactly, barelypure. MRM & tkj....Describe exactly how this "competitive advantage" would work for those of us not in the know.

That's BS......sorry, but it is. Come up with another, more original reason, please. You really think it is just that easy ??

Can you imagine the fines and suspensions not if but when it got out. And it would get out. Cars going around the track would attract attention even if its just from some message board warriors that would make its way to Darby and Company.

All they had to do is say they were filming a commercial or TV spot. If the gates are closed, no one can see what's going on.

I don't believe they will do that. Part of what I'm saying is in jest. But Roush has complained all year about how Hendrick had such an advantage in their work on the COT. He's complained about other things too. I can see someone turning the tables on him on this one.

I live less than a mile from Lowes....there are cars on the track almost every day.

It would be a tough "sell job" to try to convince anybody that cars testing were doing a commercial even if the driver is holding a camera in his mouth.

The minute you have more than two people involved, (it takes five to seven guys to run a successful test) and sure as the good Lord made little green apples, someone will talk and NASCAR will find out.
The possible penalty??? Substantial loss of owner points, possible ban from several events and a fine the could finance a space ship to the moon. Or at least a 'round the world cruise for the entire France Clan.

The end result would definitely not be worth the risk.

Roush/Fenway are in racing for the money, and if the rumor proves correct, the purchase is NOT to test at the facility, even as a side benefit. Roush/Fenway might enjoy the sport but they also understand how to make money. If buying NHIS isn't gonna make'em any money, they ain't gonna do it.

But, Hendrick did the testing with the full knowledge of Nascar.
