Roush Fenway Racing and Red Sox owner John Henry decides he wants to sign the biggest free agent to hit the NASCAR market in years. After all this is the same guy who paid $103M this offseason for Japanese pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka. He offers Dale Jr. a load of money to sign on with his Roush Fenway race team and join the likes of Matt Kenseth, Carl Edwards and Greg Biffle. Not bad. Henry doesn't stop there though. He now owns stakes in two of the most iconic sports brands in the world - Dale Earnhardt Jr. and the Boston Red Sox. Just imagine the cross promotional possibilities there

I was about to say that.
I had heard Junior himself say that he is a Chevy type of guy. Plus why leave the winniest make for one that barely hangs with the competition? That would be one dumb move by Junior's part if he does.

How many of you thought Martin would ever strap down in a Chevy ?? Never say never & he'd be AS if not more competitive at Roush Fenway as he is at DEI.How many Champs has DEI equipment produced?? Childress has their act together now that Burton is there but Junior has proven time & time again that he is NOT his dad.I don't think he'd go there just to distance himself & be his own man. Remember...his dad wheeled a Ford at one time, too. I don't think there is as much manufacturer loyalty anymore. If the deal is right & the team/car competitive, why not. I'm a die hard Ford guy & arguabaly the biggest Martin fan in the world, but I still pull for him in his chevrolet.I'm sure Juniors loyal fans would do the same...if not, then they are not real JR fans.

Chevy, Ford, Dodge, Toyota, Honda...ooops they aren't in Nsacar YET! What is the differnce outside of the the fact that one has more money than the other? If JR goes some place else...so what! He will still be racing , and that is what i care about and what most Jr. fans should care about. If he drives a Ford is the world going to end? Did it when Bill drove a Dodge or a Chevy? It just amazes me that people put so much emphasis on what a driver wheels. So------what, it isn't important, what is important is how he drives, not what he drives. If he has a good ride , it shouldn't matter what make he plants his butt into.

There is more money driving a Chevy. Take a look at the top 10's. I also agree with TRL, I think he would go with RCR or Gibbs, and I do believe it is a strong possibility.

I tend to think he would go out on his own, with his own operation, take the 3 from RCR and gain much publicity and $$$.

I am for the man. I don't care if Jeff Gordon would somehow go to FORD, I would still pull for Jeff Gordon. I pulled for Jeff when he was in Busch and he drove a Ford then.

Did you even know that Roush almost got Jeff Gordon? Jack Roush wanted Jeffy but he wouldn't want nothing to do with Ray so Rick signed Jeff after all.
