I'm just glad Carl is running better.

From ESPN...

Jack Roush is not one to harp on the regrets. But he is relieved, and a little apologetic, now that Carl Edwards has rediscovered Victory Lane. After Edwards won four times and finished third in points as a rookie, no one anticipated a 52-race winless streak in his near future.

But through organizational tweaks, misfortune and -- they'll admit it -- a screwup here and there, it took Edwards more than a year to collect a checkered flag after his debut year in 2005.

Edwards, who is dominating the Busch Series, was just happy to have the opportunity to do one of his celebratory backflips off the windowsill of his Cup car for a change. Meanwhile, Roush took a little of the blame for the drought.

"I mean, Carl and [crew chief] Bob [Osborne] won four races the first year," Roush said. "Then, of course, I put my oar in and changed the things last year and it didn't work out. I was even surprised it took this long to get it going this year."

Roush was apologetic, not only to Edwards and his team, but to the manufacturer to whom he's been true all his career. Chevrolets had won 13 of 14 Cup events going into Sunday's race at Michigan.

"Ford has given us every technical support, they've given us all the money that we've asked for to help us put in equipment and be competitive with what the other manufacturers are doing with their other teams," Roush said. "They deserve more; I'm just embarrassed that it took us this long to really celebrate with Carl and the guys."
