Jon Wood, the 20-year-old son of Wood Brothers Racing co-owner Eddie Wood, said he expects to drive another full season in NASCAR's Truck series in 2003 with Roush Racing and looks forward to working with a teammate.
Kyle Busch, the 17-year-old brother of Winston Cup driver Kurt Busch, will join Wood in a two-team operation next season, which will be based in Mooresville, N.C. Roush's Truck teams are currently based in Livonia, Mich.

Mark Martin is expected to drive the No. 99 Ford for the first few races next season while the team waits for Kyle Busch to turn 18, the minimum age to compete in NASCAR's top-three series.

"It's always helpful to have a teammate. If you're struggling, instead of having one shot at finding a good setup, you have two," Wood said. "We've had a bunch of bad luck this season.

"It hasn't been what I would have liked it to have been. With the caliber of team we have, we just haven't put it all together."

I have a question...since Biffle is going to Winston Cup next year, is Roush going to have anyone in Busch Series full time? I've just been wondering. I thought maybe Jon Wood would be going there, but it doesn't look like it according to this.

I think that Jon could drive both series without too much trouble in commuting, There are a couple of conflicts and it would be too bad to see him give up a chance for NBS ROTY if he had to hand over the ride to someone else due to delays or postponements.

CTS is developmental stuff for Roush. There sure ain't no money it. So will it be Kyle or Jon that gets the bump up to Busch? Ain't nothin like head to head to help figure that one out.

I would think that Roush would put Jon Wood in the Busch Ride first just because he has the extra year in the Trucks and did really well in the Busch race at IRP.
I hope Kyle Busch does really well next year and wins a few for Roush. They haven't been doing to well in the Trucks ever since the Killer B's left at the end of the 2000 season.
