Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Roy Williams is now suing the same woman he wanted to marry, all in an attempt to get a ring back.
Williams purchased an engagement ring valued at $76,000 and mailed it to his now ex-girlfriend. She refused the offer and now the Cowboys player wants it back.
William’s attorney told News 8 late Wednesday that he is making progress after filing the lawsuit in Ector County.
Former Miss Texas USA Brooke Daniels and Williams had been living together for a year.
Back on Valentine’s Day, Williams sent the ring to Daniels who lives about an hour outside of Houston.
The lawsuit claimed she declined the marriage proposal, but refused to return the ring.
The court documents claims six weeks later, she told Williams she lost it. Williams’ insurance company investigated, and discovered Daniels' father, Michael Daniels, had the ring. The lawsuit claimed he refused to return it.
Williams’ lawsuit asked the court to issue a temporary restraining order to prevent Daniels from selling, destroying, removing or harming the ring or reducing its value.
Daniels’ father told a Houston newspaper he does not want any trouble with Williams and will return the ring.
