Rudd to retire

one scenerio I am hearing is that Ricky Rudd, driver of the #21 Wood Brothers Racing Ford, could retire at the end of 2005 with no fanfare. John Andretti would drive the #21 for a year, with Jon Wood staying in the #47 Busch Series Ford and moving up to Cup in 2007.(10-9-2005)

Man, I hope this isn't true.

Ricky Rudd is a good driver, and I'd hate to see him go.

not only is he a good driver....he's a great person....i was lucky enough to work for him my jr and sr year in high school....he went out of his way for his employers......im gonna hate to see him retire...i wish he could have gone out on top
 
I agree. I would hate to see Rudd retire, but I had rather see him go quietly that have some lame theme to his retirement. If he does retire though I hope John Andretti is not the guy they replace him with. What a let down that would be.
 
I just dont think Ricky has the will to really run well anymore. But might as well keep him in for one more year so that Jon Wood can move in in 07.
 
I think Jon Wood would probably be a damn good cup driver if he has another year to cure in the Busch Series.
 
i hope andrittie wont drive the car. i dont like him. he sucks. but i hope jhon wood will get to soon

That was sorta my main point aside from seeing Ricky go. John Andretti is a total joke. I remember that Stewart quote...

We were running fine back there, trying to get the car right, then John (Andretti) wrecked, which is what John does, you know...

hilarious, and on another topic, I know it's better for Home Depot PR, but the old Tony may have been a menace on the track, but his interviews were the best ever.

Well at least if Rudd retires he ....will retire....not like Martin who has unretired. Do you ever wonder how much money Roush and Martin have made on all those souveniors, collectibles , and special edition cars ? Sorry went off on a tangent there, i hope for the best for Ricky, i always thought he was a good guy. :beerbang:

Well, at least Martin is still alive.

Ever wonder how much money they make off a man that had been dead for 4 years?

That to me is even more distasteful.
