Ricky Rudd said all he’s trying to do is make it through what he says will be the final race weekend of his career.

Rudd stepped away from full-time racing after the 2005 season, but at that time he never said he was retiring. After returning for 2007, though, he is saying that will be it.

I wonder if he would stay involved in some sort of mentoring role. He has much knowledge that he needs to pass on to the young guys. Rusty could have, should have done this too, IMO, but he opted for the booth where he is ineffective.

Yes, he does. Isn't he teaching his niece too?

Rudd was/is a class act. Nascar needs to go recruit some more guys like him to take his place.

Bye Ricky and thanks for the memories.

Another old school driver gone. :(
