Rumor with some truth.......

I have a friend that works in NNS and NSCS. I can't divulge his name but over the past 5 years he has told me 9 items weeks before they were made true and 8 totally made it with the 9 a half truth. (The half truth btw was Danica coming to cup but with Jr Motorsports and not SHR.

Some of you may already know this and if so I apologize.

#1- Stewart Hass Racing driver Kevin Harvick will not take Budweiser or 29 to SHR. No word on sponsor, but SHR has registered the copyright for the #4. So look for that to be KH new number in 2014. (Possible sponsor = Goodys Powders) He has heard this from crew in garage but not from his reliable sources.






#2- Dale Jr + Hendrick + Budweiser = Fan Frenzy$$$$$$$$
He is more sure of this happening than what KH sponsor is. Plus Hendrick announced today that a new multi year sponsor would be announced in next two weeks. My friend has multiple reliable sources at HMS so would be pretty cool.
 
My thoughts exactly. Just want to say I am a new member and a die hard Jr fan, but also a moderator on a cpl. of forums and not going to just spread stuff I haven't received from reliable sources. I have an email into Jayski because he and I have some of the same sources to confirm what I have posted but my guy is very reliable. Guess only time will tell.....

Although I'll wait for our expert to confirm it as fact, I hope this is true as Harvick was never worthy of a good sponsor like Bud. Anything with powder in the name seems fitting.

Hey, even I don't bet the farm on anything that isn't official (but I will bet a little LOL) Dr. Scholls Foot Powder or Johnsons BABY Powder would suit him better.

Bud needs Jr.
Brad is probably the best marketer for Miller (I hate them both, worked for a Miller distributor) and Bud needs Jr. to keep its name up top.

Jr. could just show up in the souvenir lot each week with a Bud car and make more money each week than anyone else....... People hate it, but names, especially famous ones will always make money....
 
It's also been a while since an Elliott was driving a Bud car so maybe that'll change in the next few years :cheers:
 
I haven't heard this, just going by ages and what could happen, but I see Chase being the sucessor to the #24. Jeff is an old man like me, Chase will be in cup by 2017 and I expect Gordon to want to be a total family man by then.

If Waltrip, Pearson, Gant, Allison made the kind of money they make today then they would have retired earlier too......

I think Danica and Jr. have proved that you don't have to be great to draw good sponsors, just draw more attention. Bud does seem like a sponsor that would pick up Jr. though.
 
I would love to see Jr and Bud reunited, and their theme song could be "Reunited and it feels so good". :cool: But, I also wouldn't mined if JJ picked up Bud when his Lowes contract is over, only because I would like to see a Budweiser car win a championship again. After being with Kenny Bernstein for so many years in drag racing with Bud as a sponsor, I guess still have a soft spot in my heart for them.
 
Time will tell, some of us have long memories. The number 29 can't leave anyway, it is a Childress number. Can't see Junior with Bud, they like to be in the winners circle more than that, but they could go the popularity route.

Seeing how things are going with military sponsorship, I could see Bud running back to Jr.
 
Maybe junior has become to wussified at Hendricks and needs to get a few kegs of Bud in him and lay back like he did at DEI and he can start winning again. I like Latarte, cant knock his talent, but I always thought Gustafson and jr would be a better match. Let Gordy have Steve back!!!!!!!
 
I don't think that anyone here thought that Kevin would be taking the 29 with him to another team . That doesn't happen . Bud and Junior were a great combo and a marketing bonanza that I would like to see again , but I 've been hearing the Coast Guard is very pleased with their Junior deal.

umm go back and look at the video of stewart in victory lane. I saw crew members opening cans of budweiser that look just like the ones kevin harvick opened up when he won the last time. they have stars and strips on the can and the cans are a different size than you buy at the stores. Tony is a coke guy. never seen crew guys opening up beer unless they are sponsored by a beer company. Further how in the world would SHR sign a driver this far out without having a sponsor lined up. the fact is SHR has been sorta iffy on sponsorship. I think tony may even have some empty spots on the car this season, newman has pieced together sponsorship as it is. why would you sign a guy like KH without having sponsorship. the fact is you wouldn't much less this far out from the change happening, further how do you think the rumor kevin was leaving go out??? isn't it fair to say people within bud could have leaked kevin leaving.
 
I can see why for nostalgic reasons you want this to happen. But I doubt it does happen... Pepsi just re-signed with Hendrick last fall for a reduced amount of races on Jr's car but the term was 3 years so I don't see them willing to share space on the car with Budweiser.

From what I remember when JR. went to HMS Bud either wanted to go with him or refused to go because the split with Bud and HMS Many years earlier ( I think with the Bud #25 ) was not a good one.
I believe it was something like Hendrick basically saying I don't need you.

He actually declined in performance over time with Bud, and Letarte helped to rebuild his confidence (after the prolonged decline).
Harvick is a better driver, and more capable of providing wins. A two win season for Junior for the balance of his carreer would be a phenomenal thing. I am not sure how strong Harvick will be at SHR, but I do believe he offers a better shot at matching Miller's title than Junior.

Both of you quoted for truth. Jayski even said back in February Harvick was taking Budweiser and Jimmy Johns with him. Since this newcomer has zero credibility built up yet and he's conflicting with a trusted source of information for me (Jayski), the burden of proof is on him. Honestly, Budwesier and Dale Jr reuniting seems like Dale Jr fan wet dream fantasy to me.

I though it was strange that he broke the news Kevin won't be taking the 29 with him.
 
This would be interesting to see, only time will tell if it works out but Jr + Bud together again would be cool.

NASCAR drug tested Tony Stewart after they heard from hidesert cowboy he was a "coke guy" and there was white powder above his upper lip. However, after the results came back from the lab, it was just from a powdered doughnut.
 
The #88 announcement might be Norfolk Southern. I know they've been sniffing around each other quite a bit.

Concur. Pretty sure Budweiser signed Harvick to a 5 year extension last year too.

Welcome to the forum ThisBud , your comments are always appreciated . I have to warn you , some of the older folk on here are Bud Lite drinkers and one guy just hates all beer , but if you have an extra six pack , we could use it here at the home.:D
