‘Run What Ya Brung’ rescheduled for Saturday, July 27 at Volunteer Speedway
BULLS GAP, Tenn. (July 23) – With the East Tennessee region sweltering under the hot summer sun, Volunteer Speedway has the cure to beat the heat. Go topless!

But Mother Nature had another idea how to beat the hot summer heat. Heavy rainfall Tuesday evening, July 23 forced Volunteer Speedway track owner Joe Loven to postpone the "Run What Ya Brung, Topless Tuesday" racing program until Saturday, July 27.

The headlining event on Saturday will be an outlaw, "Run What Ya Brung" 35-lap Super Late Model feature paying $1,500-to-win which will see the cars running topless, and with sideboards and wings. A $300 bonus will be paid to the highest finishing Super Late Model driver racing only topless, with $200 going to the second highest finishing competitor running topless.

Also in action on the high-banked, 4/10-mile oval will be the Limited Late Model, UMP (Open-Wheel) Modified, Sportsman, 4-Cylinder and Hobby Stock classes.

The pit gate will open Saturday, July 27 at 4 p.m., while the grandstand gate will open at 5 p.m. Hotlaps are scheduled at 6:15 p.m., qualifying at 7 o'clock and feature racing at 8:30.

Adult grandstand admission is $6, with children 12-and-under admitted free. Pit passes and backside tier-parking is $20.

For more information, contact the track at (423) 235-5020. Volunteer Speedway is located at Exit 23 (Bulls Gap/Greeneville) on I-81.
