BREAKING NEWS: Website Established To Oust Brian France, Third Witness Comes Forward
by Tom Bowles
In a surprise development in the Jeremy Mayfield case, a third, private citizen is corroborating claims Brian France ordered Mayfield black-flagged during a dispute with then-owner Ray Evernham. A retired business attorney, Michael J. Miller, says he was told by former France in-laws the NASCAR CEO gave the order while drinking scotch during a race at Indianapolis in August, 2006.
"Any notion that Vince and Sandy Garcia have somehow concocted the ‘black-flag’ story simply to breathe new life into Jeremy Mayfield’s lawsuit is completely false,” Miller said in a release. "The very same NASCAR Substance Abuse Policy that’s being used to run Jeremy Mayfield out of the sport is what Brian France was allegedly violating during the 2006 ‘Allstate 400 at the Brickyard.’”
Explaining he's known about the incident for over two years, Miller's revelation also comes with a twist: a new website called Blackflagbzf.com which contains an online petition to remove France as CEO. Within it, the site purports illegal campaign contributions by France in 2008 along with other "incidents" of misbehavior that could cause issues far beyond his firing.
"At this point, Brian France has more than just a perception problem,” Miller claims. “He’s facing serious claims of official misconduct and legal wrongdoing which, if proved, demand accountability.”
"[The mission is] to call attention to the alleged misconduct of NASCAR’s highest officials, and to call upon NASCAR’s stakeholders to take swift action to restore the legitimacy of the organization as a competitive enterprise.”
There was no comment from NASCAR on the matter at press time.
Hmmmmm
