So I was listening to Blaney's podcast, Glass Case of Emotion, and in his Post Dega episode he played a clip of Martin being kinda rough on him for taking the center position. Ryan said Truex's comments pissed him off and that whenever Truex does it everyone kisses his ass, but suddenly it's a problem when Ryan does it? (I'm paraphrasing)

What are your thoughts about this?

I guess I better find and listen to the podcasts first.
Blaney by nature is more shy and quiet. Him doing a
podcast is funny in itself.

I like Blaney because hes a helluva talent & has an old school straight to the point attitude.

Also relatable because we're the same age, a metal head & hes a huge star wars fan.

Love the fact that he does death metal vocals. \m/

Kyle Busch has been a douchebag since day one... not saying Blaney won't transform into one.. but KyBu started a step ahead in the douchebag category.

Kyle Busch is a step ahead in alot of categories.

Of course Revman has to make every frickin' thread about Kyle Busch... SMH.

Concerning Blaney vs. Truex... I have a gut feeling that we may have a rematch of Kansas coming next week in the World 600. I hope we do, and I hope it goes the other way.

Despite my affection for Blaney and for the Wood Brothers 21, I feel this board is very hard on Truex, and for not much of a reason. He is living a genuine Cinderella story, he is driving like a lion, and he deserves his success IMO. As soon as he won a couple of races, it seems that everyone started to dog on him for being too much of a media darling and a little too outspoken. Yes, he has a bit of a diva act going on, but it is a mild one IMO. There are plenty of drivers who act very much the same way, and I for one think folks should lighten up on Martin Truex. Just my $0.02.

Including douchebaggery.
see douchecanoe ...

Kyle fan here ... from the drop of the green till the checkered flag flies. Obviously, a great many people enjoy their KB observation time outside of this realm. Carry on ...

Douchecanoe.. another favorite variation.

You won't ever hear me hate on his driving ability. I feel like he has a ****** attitude and a bit of a 'small man' complex. Never met him though so...

Lol, aren't you so clever recognizing that Kyle Busch had amazing stats to start his career..

Well that wasn't exactly what I was implying but its true. Kudos for recognizing. Amazing stats his whole career though.

What were you implying then? It had to be a Blaney/Busch comparison I figured

Remember when Truex could not buy a win?
At one point,it appeared, he had the worst luck.
Probably some of it was due to inexperience.
Blainey is at that same point. He is a great talent
And will eventually get to where Truex is today.
Truex would do well to recall what it was like to be
Young and inexperienced.

I don't get the Truex hate. Quality driver who paid his dues in the sport and has had a lot of personal and professional challenges. At a team where he was their second choice after Kurt jumped to SHR.

Good for him and good for Furniture Row that they are having such a level of success.

Truex is a smug little diva that is 90% car, IMO.
Man they are ALL at least 90% car. Look at the jumps Kurt and Clint have made moving from lower quality equip to the good stuff. The biggest differences we see in these guys is their teams IMO.

Truex is no new comer, in fact he has been around almost as long as Junior. He just hasn't been able to accomplish a lot. Now that he has a good team ( tuned up by Kurt) and a great CC (Canadian) he started to run great and then win. But like a lot of the old timers he also became a privileged person and so he is also a whiner when things go wrong. I guess they all get to that point in time.

Ok - listened to a few of the podcasts and there is definitely some history brewing between Blaney and Truex.
Don't think its at a full blown rivalry yet but starting to simmer.

I remember at some point in the 2015 or 2016 season , we were being bombarded with the Truex /Pollard story
each and every time Truex would have a good run or win. Even though it was a nice feel good story
the first or second time, it become just a little bit , well, enough already ,after hearing it the 3rd ,
4th and 5th time. Furniture Row and Wood Brothers are both good stories and I do like both drivers
but probably root for Blaney when they both battle head to head.

I give the podcast a 6.5 out a 10 right now. They may have something there and it may get better
with time. My all time favorite podcasters is this : http://www.dinnerwithracers.com/episode-guide/
there are a few NASCAR drivers interviewed but mostly sportscar drivers , owners and mechanics.

There is a Blaney podcast after the Las Vegas stop that had some of Kurt Busch's radio.
Geez oh Pete , that guy can still eerily berate who is on the other side of the head sets.
Glad Tony Gibson put him back in his place.
