Tell me what you people think about Newman. Honestly (and not just because I happen to like this guy) I think he is on the verge of winning a ton of races. Let me know if you agree or disagree.

It's not a matter of when he wins The Cup, it's a matter of how many.

Newman is probably the most intelligent driver in the field, and once he had his team of PhD's get their numbers down pat for each circuit they'll be unstoppable.

he's a very talented driver, his first win will come his season. I'm thinking it will be on one of the bigger tracks, like Kansas.

Newman, Lord willing, has the potential to be one of the greats. I've already allowed myself to compare him to Cale Yarborough, and that is the highest praise imaginable considering the esteem in which I hold Cale.:)

He's awesome. He runs in the top 5 every race unless something breaks.

I agree. Newman could win at any race now. And he doesn't just run well at big tracks, he's run pretty well at all the tracks.

Newman has it all. Intelligence, talent, desire, and a willingness to learn what he doesn't know. He reminds me of Alan Kulwicki in a lot of ways, and a young Bill Elliott in others. He'll win this year, I look at Charlotte and Dover as his best chances, but The Rock fits his style as well.

Agree with all the above! Think Newman is going to win many championships and hoping he'll atleast win one race this season. Saw him at the Winston and he had a great car there. I think he acts very put together for his age.

Well as alot of you know, I've been a huge Newman fan since I saw him race sprints here in Terre Haute. The kid is unbelievable! He will get his first win this season and I'm thinking it'll be at Kansas City. I'm one of the top members of his fan board (which you can find below) and he's starting to get a huge fan following. I meet him and Indy and he's probably the most friendly and down to earth guy you'll EVER meet. He's a very smart and clean driver and at the same time is'nt affraid to mix it up with anyone plus he conducts himself very proffesionaly off the track unlike some drivers or driver. He makes a great role model for our children and if all goes right by the end of his WC career I think he'll be making a run at Dale, The King and maybe Jeff for the most WC championships.

I can actually see Ryan 10 years from now with at least 4 championships. I found myself liking and respecting him from the first time I saw him race. Calm, cool, collected, smart and talent all rolled into one.

Just last night at work I was talking with our dispatcher in Ohio (the same one that called charlotte and asked to be put on hold so he could hear the race).... we were talking about Ryan and what an outstanding young man he is in all aspects. He's an excellent driver, very smart, and has a great demeanor. I think this kid is going to go far and I'll be watching his career throughout. He's one the reasons I started getting back into nascar this yr.

I agree with all the praise lavished upon him, so I won't repeat what's already been said.

I like Ryan Newman a lot. He's definitely going places... :)

Ryan is one of the best drivers out there, I see his first win coming at Charlotte.

He'll do ok till Kid Kyle gets to the bigs cause then yer gonna see what driving skill is all about.

Kyle doesn't have as much brains as Newman does.

Newman and his team are just getting their number down. They will be an unstoppable force when they are ready.

I like Ryan Newman too. I think his is very intelligent, and has a cool head on him. He's a little hottie too. He is destined to win a lot of races and attract a huge female fan base. Cute as a bug in a race car.

i dont know what it is, but i liked the kid from the first time i saw him in a busch car, he actually seems like he has talent, not like some of these rookies that come in and get the best equipment, i dont know what it is about him, but hes got a fan here

You might be right about that Paul. Newman seems to be one smart kid and is going to be force to be reckoned with for years to come but even Kurt sez Kyle is a better driver. And Kurt ain't half bad.

The next 5 or 10 years is gonna be great if cashcar doesn't mess it up. Bummer is that the Rudd's and Labonte's and Burton's and Wallace's and even both Gordo's are going to find themselves struggling just to keep up. Well maybe not Jeff, or Matt, or Jr so much but most of the other guys that are in their prime right now are going to be fading as the crop of new kids takes over Victory Lane.

All excellent points... :growl:

Gotta love a young stock car driver with a college degree.

Pardon me for saying so, but ain't that kinda the nature of the beast? The Labontes, Wallaces, Elliotts, Martins, et al "replaced" the Allisons, Yarbroughs, Richard Petty, Pearsons et al.

I think this is the first post that we have ALL agreed on--I think his first win comes @ Kansas & then another @ Charlotte and possibly a third @ the Rock. Man, I was just thinking where would he be in points if he wouldnt have had Rusty's experimental engines in his car at the beginning of the year!!!!!!!!!

I think newman will get 1 win this year not sure at which track but I am pretty sure hell get one very soon.
