remember after fontana......"blockin is cheatin " remark.

but causin ya own yellow is ok ?
nascar didn't think so......w/ 3 lap penalty sunday.

but hardly any media mentions tha 2 ------fontana....and martinsville together?

nor kez pit penalty screw up by nascar ?

I missed the Newman penalty, but that offical really screwed up on Kez. He was calling fowl even before he got to where he could see the line or the right side of Kez's car. Sad part about that is that even though the offical was wrong, there was no way to make it right again.

He wasn't a little wrong, he was a whole lot way wrong. Kez's tire would have be sitting over the paint line, at least 6" over from where it was. He thought the car had to be inside the line instead of outside of the line. o_O

Second time Newman had to get to the pits with a cut down tire, he made it in there just fine.:)

Nascar made the right call on Newman, he probably would have lost two laps if he had made it to the pits maybe three a lot depends on how long it takes to reach pit road. I love Matinsville but one of the downsides is that the pits take up three quarters of the track.
I akways hate to see self serving cautions. He made it to obvious, by firing up and driving away as soon as the yellow was thrown.
But if I was a driver and could get away with it I would, and I am sure most drivers would. I think nascar has been more diligent to avoid lame cautions in recent years. A few years ago, I am thinking the penalty would have been a frown at the most.

I wouldn't compare this to blocking, but in both cases you take whatever is allowed, it is a competitive business, ethics is only a diversion or for PR.
Al Davis's "just win" is the reality.

Everyone is a hypocrite at some point or another. He didnt make a huge deal about the blocking at Fontana anyway IMO. And the Kez penalty is definitely wrong, but as far as sports and officials go, I gotta say that NASCAR has a lot less bad calls than any other major sport from what I have seen

After watching the Final Four this weekend I wholeheartedly agree.

Keselowski got bent over. NASCAR Screwed up. I'm not a 2 fan but if it was my driver I would be absolutely livid and honestly, stop watching the race. The race was good so I forgot about it until a couple hours afterwards... then got pissed again.

greg----stoppin w/ flat ....ta create ya own caution.....then drivin off after yellow flag flies.....is short track cheatin trick that's older than me ! ha!

Ryan can't bitch bout blockin......then do that next race ! but media gave him a "no comment" pass!

note---i like newman .....one of tha nice guys !

This is true. The NFL rent-a-refs were a disgrace, NBA refs damn near "call" games with made/missed foul calls, and why the hell is there no instant replay in MLB??! NASCAR still failed and should figure out a way to minimize human error. In the past they have added caution laps to allow Mis-penalized cars to gain back their time. That would have been fair. JMO

The Kez thing was dissapointing but he still finished 6th. I say the highest he probably would have finished if it weren't for the penalty was 4th.

As for Newman, I think 3 laps was a bit too much, and I consider myself to be anti Newman. However, it still was very cheap what he did, and I'm always happy to see Newman have a crappy points day.

That's probably how many laps they figured he would've lost if he had pitted under green.

I don't think he would have lost 3...2 maybe. Conbined with the one lap he inheritly lost, that makes 3 laps.
