It doesn't look like it nascar20. Although you really have to give Brian Vickers credit. He went out to make his qualifying run 2nd ( I think it was) and held on to the pole position until Ryan made his qualifying pass. Ryan was the last qualifyer. :bounce:

son of a gun ^_^ I was hoping Vickers could hold on, atleast he got second....Great Job :)

I think Vickers will probably flop like Atwood did. Same scenario, he's entering a high powered team that has Veterans in it, he's a good Busch Series driver. Sure he can qualify well, but during the race, he drops like a rock.

Congratulations to Ryan Newman who I believe has broken the record for most poles in a season or has he tied it?

I believe the record is 14 poles in 1 season.

Brian a rock???? He's run 2 races in the Cup series, first race he finished, (note he did finish) on the lead lap in 25th I think, and last week he finished 13th.

I think the kid is the real deal.

Geeeeeeezzzzzz, give the boy some credit!!!!! After all, he is
only 18 and has two 2nd position starts in WC. He's pretty young
to be a real "stayer" yet. Let him get some age and muscle on him. I agree with TRL,
he will be a driver to contend with for a long time.

CALE YARBOROUGH had 14 POLES in 1980; BOBBY ISAAC had 20 POLES in 1969.

 Ryan is just unstopable...

:dual9mm: 4 #74 Tony Raines* My hat comes off to Tony He has had one hell of a year for not being sponcered...

I wouldn't consider Evernham Motorsports a high powered team when Casey entered it...whether they are now or not, I'm not sure. But I never felt Casey had what it takes to run in WC & I think Brian does. But IMO, they are pushing him into Cup too fast which could end up hurting him, but won't have the same affect as it did on Casey IMO.

I'll have to agree. This kids a good driver whos coming into a top level organization. They're going to give him cars that are pretty much already setup. All he's going to have to do is drive, and fine tune the car prior to the race.
