Preece can win at the top level if you give him the car to do it. SHR as a whole is not running up to speed for whatever reason and hopefully they can right the ship by the next time we revisit the tracks with 2 races.
Harvick has been able to compete for Top 5s in SHR equipment the whole time, they will miss him a lot next year.

Yup, just like he was able to do it in RCR equipment, RCR and SHR only win if you have the talents of harvick Busch or Dale senior behind the wheel, strange cause 5 years ago SHR was a top tier team. They fell off really quick.

And they aren't picking it up with Preece, he's down there with Almirola in the standings

Ryan Blaney or Zane Smith to the 4 is what I would like to see. It’s kinda dumb that RB is the 2nd option at Penske even if he’s not as good as Logano in the eyes of many.

I think then you could have Corey Lajoie in the 38 car, maybe the 12 or 21 or something.

Ryan Blaney would be awesome, but I don't see him leaving Penske.

There was so much slander towards Danica when she was running mid-pack in a SHR car. Her replacement in Almirola has been just as bad since the start of last year.

I'd put Corey LaJoie in that #4, boot Almirola & replace him with Allgaier. Almirola hasn't done anything in that car aside from a couple fluke wins. SHR needs to start fresh, LaJoie has been amazing this year. Allgaier & Corey having so much experience is a plus.

As long as Smithfield keeps writing checks Aric isn't going anywhere. Clearly they want him in the car, otherwise they have jumped on with whoever they wanted to replace him with.

I think SHR had faith that Almirola would turn it around. Thus far, he's having the worst season of his career, which is saying something considering how bad he's been since 2021. I doubt funding will save Almirola from getting the boot if he keeps stinking it up.

I'd be shocked if anyone, including SHR, had that faith. Funding is the reason he's there and will be the reason he stays until it dries up.

SHR are already rumored to be losing Busch to Trackhouse next year so I don’t think they’re really in a position to be turning funded drivers away.

Looked great in xfinity in a Gibbs car. Didn't do much in the 37. Decent driver but not an upgrade for Custer

Holier than thou, and then drives like the drivers he despises. I am over the story about how he risked everything for an opportunity.

Ryan Preece — Finished 24th: “I think if we could have kept track position, we had I feel like a top-10 car, but when it got slick like that I don’t know how many people were actually moving forward, but it was just trying to hold on. Those last 75 laps or so, I mean, once you lose track position after Stage 1, man, you guys saw it, guys stayed out and they maintained it. What are you gonna do at that point? I don’t care if Chad Johnston had a magic wand and I had a special set of tires that were staggered special, it wouldn’t have mattered. You just can’t do anything. There’s no grip anywhere. That’s the third week in a row we’ve run top 10. It starts with, I’ve always said this, it starts with running there to winning races and we’ve shown speed, so that’s something. You’ve got speed, but ultimately it’s certainly frustrating when you’re not getting the results of where you’re running and not really due to something that you can really control. But at the end of the day the clock resets at midnight. We’re moving forward and we’re gonna go to Martinsville with every bullet loaded, so we’ll be good. I think you just get mad getting run in the fence. There was no meaning; it’s just from inside that race car you’re like, ‘I’m not gonna lift.’ When it comes to being run into the fence, every time you lift, if guys see you lifting when you’re at the right-rear corner, they’re just gonna keep running you up in the fence. I think when I meant game over, I meant just not gonna keep lifting and giving that respect of, ‘Hey, I’ll give you this room.’ It comes down to that. I was just trying to run the top. You guys saw it. He (Kyle Larson) was running the top and making ground, and I tried to move up and it’s really slick if you’re not in the right spot. Not racing dirt, I guess you figure that out.”

If it was just a fine sure, but he would be docked points too. It would be quite stupid to man up.

To be honest, his points don't mean much. He's going to need a win to make the chase anyway. And if he doesn't make the chase, 50 or however many point probably wouldn't cost him many positions at the end of the season.

Nascar catches the easy and the stupid ones. They really have no choice in certain occasions.

Costing him one position matters. Tony wasn't too happy with preece dumping him in the first place, and said so on the broadcast. now if he is a fool like Denny was and loses a position or two in the final standings thats more lost money. Would your boss be ok with you losing him/her money cause you wanted to man up and show how much of a tough guy you are?

All Stewart said was interesting. How you came up with the drama is another story in itself.

He also said "I hope not" when Bowyer mentioned it possibly being payback. I don't think there's drama to be made from it, but I don't think Stewart was exactly happy with how it played out.

My point was Stewart didn't let ANY cat out of the bag. What you infer that he was mad comes from your own imagination because Stewart didn't show any anger or anything but neutral.

Everyone makes assumptions, including both you and I. It's human nature.

But really, a true professional and boss absolutely should remain neutral in the public eye. If you are going to shame or chastise your employee, you should do it behind closed doors. Not live while your sitting at the broadcast booth. We've never heard Jr or Stewart badmouth their drivers while at the broadcast booth and I hope we never do. That's bad leadership.

Preece is a bonafide bitch imo.

Yesterday was ultimately a racing deal..Larson was cleared and never got an "outside" call. He then doored him under yellow, and then came back and wrecked him two hours later. Bragged about it with his team over the radio, got out of the car, and said it was an accident because he's not a dirt racer.

This same dude, who hasn't done anything in his NASCAR career, called the cup drivers a bunch of hacks in a Twitter rant, overreacts to a racing incident, brags about it on the radio, then denies it.

He was a field filler in my eyes for years. Not anymore.

I don't think Tony was thrilled about it either.

"Retaliation?"

"I hope not."

No drama. Tony very obviously did not want his driver retaliating. That was the end of it, but I don't think Tony was happy in the moment.

Tony obviously was not happy about it, you can say what you want but the fact of the matter is tony was not happy with it.

I understand you probably weren't around much for Tony Stewart's driving career. Tony didn't take any guff from any driver. So I could argue that Tony said to Preece, way to go, don't take any S**t from these guys. The first contact was Larson putting Preece into the wall when Preece was running good and it screwed up his car and his night. The second contact late in the race was Preece evening up the score. Stewart has got out of his car and rumbled for less.

Preece has had a frustrating season & was running in the top 5. He had the right to be upset at Larson. I can't defend Kyle on this incident. It was a d-bag move to put Preece in the wall, plain & simple.
