Doing something I've never done before, selling all my wood working tools. He'll pick them up Friday. I have, rather had, his check in hand which I promtly took to his bank and it cleared. He's a oral surgeon so I didn't think there would be a problem.

I am going to miss it but following my mini stroke I haven't felt comfortable around spinning steel blades. Sure is going to be a lot of empty space now.

Guess I'll have to find another hobby, like hanging out on forums discussing politics.:beerbang:

I can agree with this! :beerbang:

SST, I know exactly how you feel. Years ago both my father and stepfather had to give up their tools because of advancing Parkinson's. But they both did find things to fill their time.

And home brewing sounds like a good plan to me.

Now that I have a different type of job my Snap-On toolbox is in my garage. I also have my dad's Snap-On roll-away (since he passed away in '07). I think it would kill me if I decided to get rid of them. I feel for ya, SST. However, I still use my tools, so I ain't ready yet. Not sure how I'm gonna react when the time comes though.
My dad taught me how to use an oscilloscope when I was 10 years old and that's how it all started. He would let me tune customer's cars back in the early 70's so long as I didn't tell the customer when they came to pick up their cars :D. Since then I went to Ford school, GM transmission school, Jeep/AMC school, etc. I got into building Harleys and Hot Rods as a hobby, it sucks because my son doesn't know a screwdriver from a pliers. Who am I gonna leave my tools to?

Bobby, I'm just getting rid of my woodworking tools. My Snap-On box , bought in 1971, is staying put. My son has progressed from not knowing a screwdriver from pliers too, he's now my go to guy and he's pretty good. Having access to All Data is great.

He did show some interest in WW'ing but he's more of a rough rather than finish carpenter.

Off to box things up :(
