JR Motorsports announced on Wednesday that Elliott Sadler, driver of the No. 19 Stanley Tools Ford for Richard Petty Motorsports in the Sprint Cup Series, has been signed to drive the No. 88 Chevrolet for ten races. This move adds Sadler to a swollen group of drivers that have or will drive the flagship JR Motorsports car. Already this season, four men (Earnhardt Jr., Kelly Bires, Jamie McMurray and Coleman Pressley) have driven the No. 88, with Ron Fellows making his debut on Saturday. Sadler will be number six, while Greg Sacks will become the seventh at Daytona.

With just seven starts the last three years in the series, Sadler is looking forward to spending time back behind the wheel on Saturdays. “I am grateful to Dale Jr. and Kelley [Earnhardt Elledge] for this opportunity,” he said on Wednesday. “Dale Jr. and I have been friends since our days of racing late models, so it's a great opportunity for us to partner together in the Nationwide Series.”

Sadler’s scheduled races are two events (New Hampshire and Dover) with a new sponsor (see below). The other eight will be run under the banner of Grand Touring Vodka, the sponsor brought to the team by Greg Sacks. Those events are ORP (July 24), Michigan (August 14), Richmond (September 10), Kansas (October 2), Auto Club Speedway (October 9), Texas (November 6), Phoenix (November 13) and Homestead (November 20).

On Wednesday, JR Motorsports also announced a five-race sponsorship agreement with Realtree, a manufacturer of outdoor apparel, specifically camouflage apparel for hunters. As a result, Realtree will serve as the primary sponsor of the No. 88 in the Nationwide Series starting at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on June 26 with Elliott Sadler behind the wheel.

I had also heard on NASCAR Radio that Jr. was to drive in the Nationwide Series race @ Bristol this fall.

What's Kelly Bires up to these days?

Oh..... And my predictions on the future trend of this thread.

1) Jr. sucks
2) Jr's lost his will to win
3) Jr's still affected by his fathers death
4) Jr. sucks
5) Jr. can only win on restrictor plate tracks.
6) Jr's fans suck

most likely along with some Sadler sucks:D

Also, he needs a new crew chief.

Unfortunately I think that I have to agree with you. All of the great driver/crew chief pairings of the past seemed to have gelled pretty quickly. After they got split up , many never had the same success again. It isn't the fault of either party . Both might have more success paired with someone else. It isn't a negative thing , it's just that undefined "chemistry".

How many crew chiefs has JR had over the last few years? I would have to think your comment was made tongue in cheek. We all have to start looking at JR, soon...

Jr doesn't have to win another race ever again and he will always have a ride have the most fans sell the most merchandise and be the most popular driver.

I will add this:

I don't know whats worse Sadler in the car (at least he's won a couple of races) or Greg Sacks (seriously? I thought I was getting punk'd when I read this)
