Penske Racing is proud to say that Sam Hornish Jr., driver of the #77 Mobil 1 Dodge, will start his 100th Sprint Cup race at Dover this weekend. With a straight face, they proudly announced that since making the transition to stock cars from the IndyCar Series, Hornish has earned two top-five and eight top-10 finishes and has led a total of 50 laps. I had to do a double take, thinking that maybe that was for this year alone, but no, it was his entire career. No wonder Mobil 1 is bailing and no other sponsor has been found yet. Congratulations Sam, nice knowing you.

I like Hornish Jr from IRL days and pull for him in NASCAR but if he wants to continue driving cup cars maybe he should just be a test pilot with NASCAR whenever they go for COT upgrades. He has pretty much wrecked one everyway possible so experience is on his side. I was hoping he would progress this season.

I don't think he has flipped yet....lets wait for Dega

Congradulations to Crash test dummy of the year, Sideways Sam!!!:beerbang:

I think your right, no flippage yet. If anyone can do it he can, when he does it will be on a pace lap. He'll figure it out, I have faith.

Hmm... according to this, he has two DNF's this year. When did all the wrecking happen?

Hmmm... Every other race, he drove around a lot with a bashed up car or large sections of sheet metal missing. Not all wrecks are DNFs.

Daytona 500 laps 160/208
Food City 500 laps 477/500
Crown Royal presents the Heath Calhoun 400 laps 387/400
Showtime Southern 500 laps 358/367
Autism Speaks 400 laps 312/400
Toyota/Save Mart laps 93/110
Coke Zero 400 laps 159/166

Others he mantained to be just a lap or so down.

And no other driver crashes? How come no one stomps on David Ragan?

Hornish is more fun to pick on for me because he was so good in IRL and he tries to drive a stock car like its going to stick like an Indy car, cracks me up because he has ass loads of talent and hasn't figured that out yet. Plus, Regan doesn't usually spin out as much as Sam for no apparent reason, he just sucks and runs into other people.

Don't ever question me again.

Half of Regans crashes seem to be tire related
