Sarah Fisher Looking at NASCAR? "If the Gen IV (Chevy/Cosoworth engine) isn't it, and if a major sponsor isn't forthcoming real soon, (Sarah) Fisher might even turn to stock cars - one of the few four-wheeled racing vehicles she has never commanded. 'That's definitely one thing I'm looking at,' she said. 'We've talked about it this year. It's a lot easier for a sponsor to justify a NASCAR program, even though it requires more expense.'"(Cincinnati Post via MotorsportsTV.com)(8-15-2003)

Like I said in the IRL board!

I don't care what she is driving as long as its a good competitve car, or truck!

I'd LOVE to see Sarah in Nascar, but one day at a time with lot's of seat time in ARCA, then Busch before trying Cup.
She has the patience and skills to make it with proper sponsorship, crew chief, owner, etc.

It would intresting to see how she would run in a cup car.
Gollum, can we say "roty" when she chooses to do so?

Absolutely, unequivocally, no disrespect intended, but bringing Sarah Fisher up and thinking she will be ROTY and set new records is a bit overzealous.

Sarah Fisher is good, but is she really that good ?? Not yet. SHe needs to hone her skills in other series first.

Her efforts in Indy and sprints have been commendable, yet the truth of the matter is, most of the attention is because of her sex.

I think she has potential, but not star quality.
Placing the caveat of if she is "in good equipment" is an excuse offered to CYA. The "equipment" excuse is always offered when Junior has a bad year and the only reason Gordon has a good year.

Whatever, in the event Sarah gets into either the Busch or WCS, it is certain she will dedicate herself to being the best she can be.

It would be wonderful if she came into the NASCAR ranks, did well, and it was suggested I eat humble pie, or crow. :D

Whizzer, please see my original response in this thread! "I'd LOVE to see Sarah in Nascar, but one day at a time with lot's of seat time in ARCA, then Busch before trying Cup.

AND I would like to see Tina Gordon move up as well.

A good driver doesn't depend on gender.

I wonder why everyone all the sudden starts screaming ROTY for Sarah Fisher, I hardly watch the Indy Racing League but in the few races I've seen, I've seen her name in the lower half of that little ticker which shows the standings. I dont get why all these Chevy drivers in Indy are leaving just because their engine program cant get it together, maybe if those drivers just gave a little bit more time to the engine programs ?
