I see nothing political about the thread. :) I am puzzled though what the big deal is about having miss hot pants at the 500.

If she's actually interested in the race instead of using the appearance to promote herself, let her buy a ticket like everyone else.
 
Well, she has the right to watch the race. I hope she enjoys herself.

But seriously, this is nothing more than a political stunt. There's going to be little, if any, impact to NASCAR. Fans of Palin will not translate to new fans of NASCAR.

If she really cared about the racing, she would have bought a ticket like everyone else. I doubt she'll even stick around once the race starts. She's not the Grand Marshal, so you might not even see her on TV.

Of course that could change at the last minute. I can't remember the details, but didn't that happen once when Bush was the Grand Marshal? They had someone else lined up, and made a change at the last minute.
