i watched the qualifying this morning (technically yesterday), and while i was as impressed with barichello's pole as i was with my own interest level throughout the entire session, i was really impressed when sato had a faster segment than michael. japanese drivers in US and f1 racing have always seemed to be a joke, but this guy looks pretty danged good...i heard them say honda is going to have a lighter, more powerful engine pretty soon, and i think that sato is a rookie...if so, this guy could be a serious contender next year.

not that i'm a pro-japan kinda guy...i don't hate them, but i tend to favor the US, canada, and australia, as well as the places my blood comes from, mainly germany, ireland, and estonia...but i do like the underdog...and i can't think of a bigger underdog in the racing i'm used to than a japanese driver.

Yea im a BAR fan and Sato did a great job today. i was at the race and he was challenging Michael for the lead in the early stages. but when pitstops came up michael just took off and left everyone in the dust. But it was a good race for Sato
