This happened this morning...
Everything works, now it's just elbow grease..
And the price was ridiculously low.

Fired it up for 1 hot dog... Not too shabby..
I was going to give it a quickie clean for a quick flip, but after a neighbor became envious , I'm going with an engine teardown & restoration , then I'll keep it. Pretty sure it's the only one like it around here...

Started the teardown. Not as many parts as the real thing!

somebody put some work into casting the small details in like the motor mounts. I knew something was cookie with the water bridge and short headers. Thought maybe it was a mini puller engine. Friend of mine had one that looked nearly identical in his mini-puller.

As we say in New England, it's Wicked Hot today. Managed to get the block painted, and the bottom of the engine stand.
Partially unwrapped my Christmas present from Jegs. It's just too damn hot today for much else...

Is it heavy? Other than the motor mounts not being drilled/tapped and the fuel pump oriface being solid, I'm legit wondering if it was a real block that somebody cracked a web, so they torched it apart, took a grinder to it, and you have the end result.

^^Nah.^^^ From what I've researched, it was a modified sand casting, using aluminum for the pour. It is Wicked light weight, stand and all weighs less than 30 lbs. The heads are bolted to the manifold, which will be amputated for cleansing soon. And the best part is these came from @aunty dive territory. British Columbia, somewhere. Took me 4 hours to track them down, and a week for expensive shipping.,but they are original to the grill.

It's the short rods that make it weigh less.

Some more progress today.
Hid the 1 lb..propane tank in the SUNOCO can.
Afterthought, will probably hide the propane line

in the engine stand later for a more "stealth "look.. Did a initial test burn for 20 minutes with a 20# tank..No problems...
Now., on to the food party this weekend...

Tough to see, but smoke really does come out of the pipes...only 2 burgers, so not alot of exhaust...
