What did you guys think of Bobby Labonte's wreck? Man that was scary. And what a great guy Kyle is to stop and check on him!! I'm so Thankful Bobby was O.K. and a  goes out to Kyle.

The scary bit was the slow-mo replay and thinking "What if his car STAYS pinned against the wall!?? (Driver side!)"

Major kudos to Bobby on the post wreck interview...."Yeah, it wasn't as bad as it looked....I just smell like a pit bar-b-que"

I don't think I could be very funny after I got out of a burning car....

was very scary, especially after seeing newman drive by me at michigan, bobby could have got burned if it stayed against the wall, thank god it didnt

Very scary wreck, expicially because he had a full tank of fuel. That car just wouldnt stop burning, even with the fire extinguishers. Glad to see that the safety of the car was able to protect him from the impact and from the flames. Unfortuanately for me, Bill go swiped by Steve o. His car got hit pretty hard in the drivers side as well, from what I saw in Post race interviews.

That was a very bad wreck, but when he jumped out though, then I knew he was allright.

That was scary. And I was wandering if he was going to get out fast enought.

I'm just glad that Bobby is okay! That was even worst than Ryan's at Michigan.

Maybe an easy fix here. Including the hatch, develop a quick release on the wires running to the helmet.

There is a big amount of space in the rear window and trunk area. Why not develop some sort of bladder that holds a type of foam that would douse or at least aid the dousing of the gasoline fire? The bladder would have some sort of heat release.

When he went down head first after flailing around I was worried, until I realized he just fell when his radio cord snapped/melted. Bobbys good people, glad he came out with nothing but a bbq stench.

It was very Scary I felt really bad for him My boys and I were awfully Concerned

Yes that was a scary, stubborn fire. I love the competitive nature of these guys. Get out of a flaming car and beat the ground cause he crashed, and still have a sense of humor about it.

When dw said cars look better with flames I dont think thats what he had in mind.

Seriously though, it was a scary wreck and he should have been able to get out alot quicker.

That was scary...Newman's crash was alos scary. Seeing those flames inside the car of Newman was horrific. A hatch would be nice and safe.

I'm always happy to see these guys get out of the car safely. And to have a sense of humor about it is even better. :D

I think bobby said he never practices getting out of the car. Mikey says he practices at least once a race weekend getting out of the car with all safety equipment attached. It might be a case that mikey does it because he is so much bigger than bobby is.

Should Nascar suggest everyone practice getting out of the car or should it be left up to the drivers? I don't know how you could really police it, but if on race day every team has it's own official, they could make it part of qualifying or pre-race procedure.

That could only makes things better, good idea there!

That accident was horrific, and I was very glad when I saw him come out. It was one of the worst I'd seen in a long time.

It would have neen terrible if that car hadn't rolled down the track. If it had stayed against the wall. I don't want to think about it. :(

man that was scary......he really worried me when the car came to a stop and he didnt get out for a second there.....

but really NASCAR.....get the freakin roof hatchs on the damn cars

I dont think the roof hatch would have helped in Labonte's crash. They need to explore ways to contain the fire within the fuel cell, more importantly they need to find out why the fuel cells have been exploding.

Nothing worse than having a wrecked car on fire at speed.

I think you are right about the roof hatch not helping Bobby, now if his car would have stayed up against the wall. Undoing all his equipment seemed to be Bobby's problem.
