I was talking to someone that worked for Schawan's today and he was saying that they needed someone to drive up front and do better. then he said well what they need to do is drop the racecar and give us our money back cause we (workers) are the ones paying for it, cause its took out of our checks.

So my question is how much are they paying for 3 years, and don't they have a set amount on how much they can spend on ads. (TV, racecars, signs, ect) so there for it really would not hurt the pay of there works?

I just think the guy is mad because he dont like nascar and they are spending money on a racecar.

Lappy, when I was at Speed Zone in Dallas and LA, we had the Schawans folks along side our display. They also had a show car in LA.

All of the workers from Schawans (they were employees and not PR people) all had positive things to say about Ken and their company's involvement in NASCAR. I think that you were just taking to one disgruntled individual.

By the way, I wish I had to hat back from Turtle. I could have had Ken autograph it for her. He was at the Wallace family fund raiser that I was at in Mo. last night. I was sitting behind him and Kenny Wallace for awhile and could have gotten that thing autographed. <G> Oh well, who was to know?

Thats what i was thinking, guess since the guys not a nascar fan, he thinks they should of gave them a raise and not put there name on a nascar.

I seen a Schrader hat to day, so far i have seen like 2 or 3 new Schwan ones (all diff) Need to find me one now, i like the one you gave Steph the best.

I'm pretty sure the individual you were talking to about Schwans involvement it NASCAR is a case of someone that neither likes Schwans nor NASCAR. The money any sponsor puts up for sponsorship comes out of their marketing budget. If they didn't spend that money on the BAM sponsorship, they would have spent it somewhere else........that money is set aside for marketing. It would have never been part of the the operational payroll money. When companies are looking for ways to market their product, they look at who knows how many ways of getting their name out to the public. They have a set amount budgeted...........they put it where they feel they will get the most return. When companies are figuring what their payroll will be they set that aside. The two are not mixed.........they don't rob one for another. If the BAM sponsorship gives them their expected return, the employees will benefit with higher wages or benefits. It's a money thing.............the company needs to make money to pay for the operational overhead (payroll is probably the bigger portion of that overhead). And marketing is the way companies make more money. That Schwans employee you were talking to just doesn't understand..........and probably doesn't care either.

That's ok...if you had gotten it autographed, I wouldn't let my dad wear it anymore. Once something's autographed, it goes on the wall!

Steph, those guys did a serious autograph session. Even after the posted ending time, they still kept signing.

I think that the event went well. I was there to set up at 3:30. I pulled the car out of the trailer and since Kenny was in charge, I turned the wheel over to him and he parked it where he wanted it. Hey, it's his event who am I to argue with him.

Drivers present were all three Wallace brothers, Robert Pressley, David Green, Ken Schrader, Jason Keller. Bobby Hamilton Jr. was supposed to be there but had to cancel out at the last minute due to a death in the family.

They had an auction with lots of stuff and it was still going on when I loaded up the car and left after 9 PM.

My hat is off to the drivers. They really helped make the event a success. Lots of other volunteers that also worked very hard.

If Schawans was to drpe the race car. Does that guy think he would see an increse in his paycheck. Don't think so.
