In a press conference, Arnold Schwarzenegger has announced that he will run for California Governor under the Republican banner. This comes as a complete contradiction to what a spokesman said one week ago. Of course there are now 482 people who haved signed up in an attempt to run, even I have signed up for governor, yeah right. What'd yall think ?

If Larry Flynt of Hustler magazine is running, I'm sure glad I'm not in California.

Happy, sign up your dog/cat. Hell, they'll probably get a vote.

Well what about Jerry Springer?? wasnt he gonna run for some kind of governor or senate??? Just wonder if he would keep Steve as a body guard?? lol

Arnie for prez in '08?

I read somewhere today that Springer was not running because his show would interfere with his politics.

Jerry is not gonna run, He said he can't mix his show with politics. He is under contract till Summer 2004 with the show. ^_^ As far as Arnold, Maybe he wants to be the next Regan.

That would be cool, how do ya'll think he would do?
Who would have thunk it, A Russian running a state in the USA. The times they are a changin. ^_^ :)

The thing about Schwarzenegger is that he's not a conservative, on social issues, he's pro-choice, that's why the full corps of Republicans arent backing him. But the Californians wanted a recall, now they've got their own mess to sort out, even Gary Coleman is running for Governor, even this smiley :) is running for Governor. Thru it all I think Schwarzenegger is goin to win it; oh and he's austrian-german not russian.

I wasn't aware of that rule.

I think they'll have the 22nd amendment changed so that Arnie can run, him and Bill Clinton will try and have that 22nd amendment abolished so that Clinton can run for a third term and Arnie can run for Prez. It's goin to be a win-win situation for both of them

I think that only applies to the President of the United States though?

It makes sense but I just never thought about someone other than an American running for Pres.

Have to get that one through Congress first, I'm not sure they'll pull it off.

Hustler magazine publisher Larry Flynt announces that he will be a candidate for California governor in the October 7, 2003 recall election during a news conference in his Beverly Hills office on Monday. Flynt has gathered the necessary number of signatures to add his name to the ballot and will run as a Democrat. REUTERS/Fred Prouser

Thats just great, we have an austrian running for governor, we have a porn star running, we have a short guy running and now we have a perverted sex hog running for governor. This election campaign has much more twists than this year's Winston Cup points race.

or this years silly season. :p

I repeat --

I'm glad I'm not a Californian.

If you think the Florida voting was a fiasco, just wait until the recall election. Over 400 on the ballot? The media is going to have a field day with this.

ROTFL

Whatch you talkin' about Willis?

BTW...who is the porn star that is running?

I also heard that Galager (sp) and Gary Coleman (differant strokes) was running. It is going to be a strange campain. :D

Ok here is what I dont understand... All of these guys are already famous and got all kinds of money... so y run for office?? Is it just because "Jesse the Body" ran and won?? I'm just a lil hillbilly from Tennessee so I dont get into politics that much but this is going to be something I might have to keep up with..lol... sounds like it could get interesting.. :D

Apparently, Mr Schwarzenegger feels the need to improve conditions in a state which he basically took as his home. Very noble in a sense, but I dont think anyone can make roses out of the stuff Californias in.

Wouldn't be the first actor/musican turned politican. Ronald Regan of course, was President of the USA & Governor of California. Sony Bono was mayor of Palm Springs, Ca & I believe he was in the California State Senate also? I'm going by memory here. Clint Eastwood was mayor of Carmel, Ca. Fred Gundy (hope that's right), Gopher from the Love Boat was a US Congressman from Iowa. And one of the Congressman from your state was an actor...his name slips me, but one of his bigger roles was playing the equivalent of Bill France in the movie "Days of Thunder".

All I can say is I glad I am not from Cal. We have a big enought problem with Al Gore.

Yep the turkey is still here.

Heres an interesting paragraph from an article from an Austrian Newspaper :

Reno Sacramento, California.

Guys care to comment on that ?
