SCOOP on USGP in 2004

While I was at IMS yesterday on the ground tour of the track. It was asked by someone in the group if the USGP date will ever change. The answer was; Yes in 2004 it will be in June That way IMS and the Candaian GP can split the cost so flyign over all the cars. I never knew that the tracks had to pay that bill which the guide said was about 4 million round trip.

Thanks PB for the insite. I have wonderd why they weren't together being on the other side of the pond. I had no idea the track paid. Talk about cutting costs, heh.

I didnt know the track paid either, but it would be common sense to put fly away races together so that way the travel period isn't extended over months at a time. Constructors championship determines how much of this travel money each team will get, thats why teams like Minardi are thrilled with a point here and there because thats millions that they dont have to come up with.
