Scott Riggs wins the NASCAR Busch series race at Gateway International Raceway when Mike Bliss, who dominated the event, ran out of gas after getting the white flag. David Green will take over the points lead by finishing second to Scott Riggs and is only 5 points over Todd Bodine.
Next week the Busch series will be doing another stand alone event at Nazarth while the Cup and Truck series are at Charlotte
 
I had to leave somewhere with about 13 laps to go, and figured Bliss had it, :( but when I got back I noticed Riggs won and was surprised! Congrats to Riggs on the win! :)
 
Would hardly call it stealing a race. Not Scott's fault Bliss ran out of petro. It was more like the #20 team 'gave' one away. :)
 
True, 17fan. It wasn't Scott's fault that Mike's team miscalculated the fuel. I will have to give credit to Bliss for the way he handled himself after the race. The reporter that was following hm with the microphone sticking in his face and Bliss just kept walking. He obviously didn't want to say anything he might regret and couldn't take back later. Then, when he had cooled down and had time to assess the situation that had just transpired, he willingly talked to the reporters. Cool heads always prevail. I was certainly disappointed to see him run out of fuel, but in the end, he was a "classy" loser.

MB has always been a class act. Didn't get to see the post race TV stuff since my youngest & I were down @ Gateway for the race, but I'm sure he was 'upset'. That would have been his 1st NBS win & in his rookie season to boot!
 
All I can say is............
............This is why you have to race all the laps!
