Anyone know If Scott Wimmer is gonna run any cup races this year in the 27 dodge and if so will it have a sponsor (Seimens or Maybe Stacker 2)Just curious :salute:

I haven't read anything yet. Scott seems to be struggling in Busch this year after being so strong at the end of last year.

I hope so!!! Then there would be 3 BDR cars. Ward, Kenny, and Scott. Wimmer is a good driver who I like a lot, and maybe needs 1 more year until he comes into Cup, but I am not for sure whether he will run a few races or not. I think the sponsor would be Seimens.

Scott is one of the good guys. Somewhat quiet in personality but he does know how to have fun too. He had a ball doing the big wheel tricycle races with fans at the Stacker2 display at Nashville and Milwaukee.

My job is hauling the Staker2 show car and both Kenny and Scott have made appearances at some of my shows.
Both guys are fun to work with.

Scott is making a slow rise in the points. It's only half way through the season. Anything can happen but I expect that Scott will gain a few more positions before the season is over.

i think that teams biggest problem was the loss of bootie barker...

If Scott races in WC this year...Stacker 2, Stamina RX or Stinger (not Siemens) will be the sponsor.

They planned on racing a cpl of Cup races this year, but I'm not sure what races & what has changed if they don't/didn't run those races. (Sorry, I haven't been keeping up with Scott's deal this season)

Personally, I figured on Scott to replace Ward in the #22 next season if Ward didn't get it turned around this year...thought that last year with all of the wrecks Ward was in even though he had two wins (Sorry to all the Ward fans out there).

But, I know that BD is very loyal to his drivers & it has to be at the bitter end before BD will cut a driver loose & Scott isn't running as well as he was last year & it has to do with the team isn't jelling like it did last year with Booty Barker, so I'm thinking they put the WC progam on hold with Scott, partly because of the lack of $$$ & partly because all the BDR teams are stuggling.

The #23 is doing worse than Ward...but If I knew that Ward would go to a new team...then I might like to see Bill Davis fire him. After all he has fired drivers by the names of Bobby Labonte, Jeff Gordon, and Mark Martin. Maybe Ward could be that good!

Ummm, BD never fired any of the above named drivers.

I never brought the #23 into my post & they didn't exist full time last year in WC. They are not fairing much better than the #22, but I didn't bring them into my post because they were not there last season.

Yes the #23 raced last season. Hut Stricklen...then Kenny took over.

Those 3 were on BDR...so...

So...they were never fired by BDR..they left BDR & went on to other ventures.

The #23 ran last year, but it wasn't full time with Hut or Kenny.

My point is that If Ward left...It might actually be a good thing. If another team picked him up. I can't wait to see how BDR performs with the new car make next season.

I apologize. Sometimes I have a hard time reading between the lines, especially when the novel is 'War & Peace'. :D

Actually the 23 (Hills Bros Dodge) did run fulltime last year. Most of the season Hut Strickland was behind the wheel until late in the season when he was replaced by Kenny Wallace.

I think

From Jayski:

Wimmer to run Bristol Cup race. . in a Chevy: Scott Wimmer said Monday on Speed Channel's Inside NBS that he's planning to enter the Cup race at Bristol in August. Bill Davis Racing has two [#27] Chevrolets back in the shop for him and he's planning on testing soon [supposedly tested at Dover in May too].(Inside NASCAR Busch Series on SPEED via BGNRacing.com)(7-21-2003)
