Rep. Seaquist attempted to backpeddle, big-time, after comments about a new track being built in his WA district incited a huge number of NASCAR fans to protest his idiocy. Initially, he talked about how undesirable the NASCAR community would be to have as neighbors "with their junky cars in the front yard," etc. I had to laugh at his "amended" statement:
“I was going after the International Speedway Corporation,” the Democrat said. “That’s who I had in mind. It’s my own fault I wasn’t clear enough what I was saying and I apologize to anybody who did take offense. But my concerns are solely about the track corporation, and that’s because they’re trying to come out here, build a track, make a lot of money and leave the taxpayers in the dirt.”
Couldn't agree more about ISC, but then again ... he really wasn't talking about ISC until he realized that NASCAR fans actually can afford long-distance carriers, and aren't afraid to dial his number, lol ...
