Severe Storms, round three
Got trapped at work, still am at work and can't leave until 4:15 at the latest because of the storms.
Round three due in at about 7:00 tonight.

Round 4 is ALMOST over - and round 5 is losing energy. Storms possible tomorrow afternoon.
Montgomery and PG County Schools closed, Charles remains open despite very severe storm damage. Wild evening.

RECAP OF ROUNDS 2, 3, 4, and 5:
Over 210,000 people without power this morning across the D.C. region. Several school districts closed down. One fatality, a tree fell on someone in Annandale out fergy's way. Tornado in Bel Alton. Tornado in Chesapake Beach, one in critical condition and 14 homes hit. 5 families have been displaced.
Tony Stewart said mother nature was nice yesterday, he obviously didn't see the weather out here.
Strong storms possible again today as round 5 is coming.

This has been an unusual weather year - NOAA has an advisory up now calling for severe storms again......ugh!

I would say things are great here in Raleigh but I'm afraid you might relocate here.
So instead, wow did you see those storms we had. Hail as big as basketballs. At least they hit some of the cat sized mosquitoes to keep there numbers down. With sink holes everywhere you really have to be careful because if you fall in one the roaches will pick your bones clean in minutes. I've never seen a place go from 50 below zero one day to 120 in the shade the next. And tornados, they're everywhere. The city has quit sounding the tornado alarms as they were meaningless. We must have had 4 or 5 tornados at any one time. We can only hope that the approaching Cat 5 hurricane will clear some of the debris so we can get around. The trees are still bent double covered in ice. But the heat wave tomorrow will melt the 6 feet of snow causing massive floods. They would advise everyone to take to their rooftops except the ozone hole has opened up again over Raleigh and exposed skin is getting 3rd degree burns.
I think I'll move to Waldorf, MD. I understand their weather is really nice...

We get storms like this once a year, but nothing like yesterday.
This was a wild weather event. I've been looking at moving to La Plata, well that idea sounds worse and worse each day.

The weather here (VA) was brutal yesterday. There was a tornado sighting NEAR my kids school, so they herded all of the kids into the hallways. The school ended up losing power. There were trees down everywhere on my way home. Some of the traffic lights still weren't working this morning.

Biggest problem here is tornadoes. Thunderstorms don't usually hit us like this. Tornadoes do hit us hard though, especially here in Southern Maryland. I don't know if any of you guys remember the big one of 2002, the F5 twister than slammed La Plata.

MADISON, Wis. -- The National Weather Service has issued tornado warnings for areas of southern Wisconsin, and a tornado watch has been issued for southern Wisconsin until 8 p.m. Saturday.
A tornado warning is in effect for Dane, Iowa, Sauk and Columbia counties until 3:45 p.m. Saturday.
A tornado warning remains in effect for western Dodge and southern Green Lake counties until 3:30 p.m.
Southeastern Richland County is under a severe thunderstorm warning until 3:30 p.m.
The National Weather Service called these storms extremely dangerous and said they could pose a life-threatening situation. It said the storms are capable of producing strong-to-violent tornados.
A tornado warning is issued when a strong rotation has been detected in the storm or a tornado has been sighted. The NWS said that people in areas under a tornado warning should immediately seek a sturdy shelter.
The Grant County Sheriff's Department said it has spotted a tornado in the Woodman area Saturday afternoon.
Dispatcher Chris Johll said the tornado touched down in a rural area and there were no injuries or damage reported. He said a deputy confirmed the tornado.
According to other storm reports, authorities in Columbia County said they received multiple reports of touchdowns in that county.
Law enforcement has reported a tornado on the ground southwest of Boscobel in the Wisconsin River area Saturday afternoon.
A flash flood warning has also been issued for Green Lake County until 6 p.m. Saturday.

Lakes emptying...interstate closed/ one more mabey closing....100 road closures!!!!! Houses floating down the river. I'm lucky where i live is high enough we don't have much to worry about. I did fill 500 sand bags today!!! Got to help when you can!!!
