A field of 20 drivers qualified for the Feb. 12 Bud Shootout at Daytona, two shy of the record. Drivers who won a pole in 2004 or are past Shootout champions are eligible. Kurt Busch squeezed into the field by winning the pole for the season's final race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Along with Busch this season's other pole-winners were: Joe Nemechek, Greg Biffle, Kasey Kahne, Brian Vickers, Casey Mears, Jeff Gordon, Ryan Newman, Bobby Labonte, Ricky Rudd, Jimmie Johnson and Jeremy Mayfield. They will join past Shootout champions Dale Earnhardt Jr., Tony Stewart, Dale Jarrett, Mark Martin, Rusty Wallace, Ken Schrader, Bill Elliott and Terry Labonte.
