Shootout format?

I've been so massively confused with all the changes in Cup, Trucks and ARCA that I haven't paid attention to The Shootout stuff.

Who's in and what's the format? What's a Wildcard?

They're taking the top 4 or 5 teams from each manufacturer, then added two wild card spots because they realized it was stupid for 2-time Shootout winner Tony Stewart not to be in the race.
 
I know for a fact that there will be one less viewer for the shootout this year because of this new format. ME. And I'd be willing to bet I'm not alone.

Yep i bet there are a few that won't watch it, I'll watch only because it is racing and i need a fix....lol

ARCA is on SPEED Channel at 4 on Saturday that's normally one of the best races in Speedweeks next to the Truck race and the Thursday Classic.
