Should NASCAR only attempt at half a race?

Should the race run scheduled day, even if NASCAR knows it will only go halfway?

That is rather an ambiguous question.

If it is raining steadily, as at Dover, there is no need to even start a race --- which they didn't.

With the Pocono situation, as I said earlier, it looked as if the race could be run the full distance.

I buy tickets knowing full well that a race could be shortened. I may not like it, but that's the way it is. When I was working, I could never stay for a Monday race, so I lost my money. Tough.

Andy, you really seem to be on the anti-NASCAR run of late. TRL gave a good answer to this question, but I don't think that is what you had in mind when you started this thread. Everyone hates it when a race is shortened by rain, or daylight in the case of a track not having in lights, but that's the way it's been from the beginning.

I can understand you are upset with Gordon winning this race, but it's happened time and time again. Even Ryan Newman said that he wasn't all that upset about not winning. His first win was a rain shortened race as well. You just have to know that what you would like to happen each and every race just isn't going to happen. Even when there was a time when NASCAR would ask the fellas to try and make a certain situation happen, it wasn't always possible.

I agree with you TRL. Most people can't stay on Monday. Most times I have stayed but a couple of times I have lost my money too. When I have stayed I know it hasn't ever been over-crowded so that means many poor soles have lost their money.
