Ok I messed up, and forgot to add in the poll, the poll questions are listed below

1.Yes, Being short is an advantage?

2. Does Neckless Ryan Newman has an advantage?

3. Is Carl Edwards the only 6.0 plus driver worth a crap?

4. Not an absolute requirement, but there is trend.

5. None of the above this is a stupid, idiotic poll!!!

This 2003 link sez averge IRL driver is 5'9 and 159 pounds

I think if you want to get the best talent in the seat make a minimum driver weight rule. If they don't meet the weight then drop a few pounds of ballast under their seat to make up for it. I do not want to see a series turn into the only successful drivers are the horse-jockey types.

Didn't the IRL have some stupid rule "wet weight" a few years ago where the minimum weight included the driver? I think (but I am not sure) that was one of the reasons for Hornish leaving the series. Got tired for running his a$$ off on the treadmill and eating like a rabbit.

didn't check but richard petty, david pearson, junior johnson, buddy baker, etc... are all 6' + (by appearance). useless stat. height has nothing to do with talent.

Since NASCAR changed the weight rule a few years back it is'nt as advantages having a lighter driver as it was. Still though it gives you a little more oppurtunity to place weight where needed. As far as height a shorter driver could in theory lower your center of gravity and roll coupling.

Currently NASCAR rules are 3200lbs without driver 3400lbs with driver. That kinda balanced out the driver weights.

You left out one of my favorite drivers, Tiny Lund 6'5" 270-300lbs depending on when he ate last.

I don't think Edwards and Logano are the same height. Logano is taller, and I doubt Edwards is over 6 feet. Kez is listed at 6 feet, and he and Carl are the same height.

Remember a few years ago when Robby Gordon and others where whining about how small/light Danica Patrick was at Indy? They said it was an Unfair advantage, I don't beleive it was her size that outran them :p
