I am not sure why most of you don't like the chase, but I like it and it's the best system. Since only Nationwide drivers get points in that series, should they have the have same system has Cup.

They don't have 12 top teams in NW, so there doesn't seem to be much point in having a chase. Oh wait, Danica would make the chase! ;)

I guess it would be hard, since CUP drivers take wins away, so they couldn't decipher a WC based on wins. It just seems like a three man race in Nationwide...already and there is 19 races left.

Cause the best racer all season should be the champion. And the fact that they don't let cup guys points count is even worse to me. I don't care if a cup, truck or nationwide guy wins whatever championship in his division he should be the best all season long. Period.

If *insert driver* wants to run all 3 series and is the best racer in all 3 series then they should win all 3 series but of course that is too simple and makes too much sense for NASCAR.

They should let Cup drivers run Nationwide... they should also do what they used to do and run Nationwide races on the other side of the country when Cup races. NASCAR made it way too easy after Harvick won in 2001 because they wanted someone to win Nationwide and Cup. Now, they're having to deal with the problems it created.

This would be your Nationwide Chase if it started today (Stenhouse would reset to first Sadler 2nd) There really isn't anyone who screams championship contender besides the ones already up there.

Mike Bliss in 8th, Brian Scott in 12th and Joe Nemecheck in 9th. Isn't that a total joke?

IMO, there should not be a Nationwide Chase (or a Cup Chase, for that matter). What should happen in the Nationwide Series is that only the year's top 5 drivers (or 10, at the outside) be eligible to move up to the Cup Series. There are too many guys in the Cup Series that don't belong there and crash themselves and Cup regulars just about every week.

Yes totally agree, a playoff format does not belong in racing. Racing has always been about being consistently good all season and I think it should go back to that in Cup. It has always been a gimmick IMO.

A few drivers have gotten robbed of a consistent season by someone that finally figured it out at the end (or maybe NASCAR just picked the right tracks for the end ;))

They adjusted their strategy to fit the format.

No hate the Chase in Cup, and the new points system, it would be even worse in NW where some drivers don't get points.

Though on the Chase in general its been 8 years people move on its not going anywhere.

No offense to the original poster but that would be the worst idea since the idea was first introduced into the Cup series. The Chase format has done little to aid the series in any way IMO. You don't try to create drama. It occurs naturally. A NASCAR champion should be determined as it had been for years, the best over an entire season, and not over a 10 race shortened season. This isn't a stick and ball sport.

It's racing and in racing, it's who gets to the finish line first that wins so who ever has the most wins should be the champ.
