Silly season begins!!!!

That is very convoluted. If you are going to let Hornish go, why not just put Allgaier in the #22 or #77?

Maybe I am two steps behind, but where is Miller Lite sponsorship going?

Well if that's true I guess Sam will be moving back to IRL.

I dont know as much as I like Sam in the IRL Penske just expanded to 3 cars this year and it was like pulling teeth for them so I doubt he will have a 4th car next year. But I could see him driving for another team maybe even Ganassi if they finaly get a 3rd car.

Sam is an open wheel racer and damn good one at that. But he is subpar stock car driver and with Allgaier continuing to impress in the Nationwide Series it was only a matter of time.

Shell to Kurt Busch
Miller lite to the 12
Mobil 1 and Hornish gone

"A source said discussions between RCR and Budweiser, in its last season with Richard Petty Motorsports' Kasey Kahne, have taken place"

Could this be the beginings of Jr. at RCR driving the #3 Bud car?
Harvick and Kahne end up a Hendrick by 2012 after spending a season at SHR? Everyone says Jr is not going anywhere but Budweiser going to RCR sure does look like it could be a game changer.

Sorry, its late and I'm bored.

Miller Lite, could move to #12-Brad Keselowski, whose car does not have sponsor logos but gets support from Verizon, which cannot be on the hood of a Sprint Cup car because of Sprint's sponsorship of the series

Does not say Verizon is going away. Maybe Verizon (colors) go to the 77 and Hornish satys and continues to run the R&D car he already is.

Silly season began last week with the signing of Kahne to HMS. That started the ball rolling and some of this could be the result. We're not even in May yet and we're already seeing or hearing about some major moves.

I sure miss the days when the conversation was about the racing and not all of the off track stuff. This kind of news used to wait until long into the season, not only after a handful of races.

And..... this is also a reason not to invest to much in driver apparel or sponsor labeled memorabilia. While I'm not one of those guys that had to have my 8 tat converted to an 88, I did have a game-room devoted to my favorite Bud sponsored driver. Quite a bit of money was invested into those products. My wife wanted to have everything Bud related. This type of change has to be a turnoff to many NASCAR fans.

No. Allgaier should be in Cup. Allgaier has something Hornish lacks in stock cars: talent. He did win an ARCA championship with a family-run operation against Eddie Sharp and Jack Roush.

Allgaier >>>>>>>> Hornish

I know what you mean. I have all kinds of Home Depot stuff I can't do anything with because nobody wants it.

you know here is a question what exactly is Verizon getting out of the sponsership of the #12 in Cup I mean they never call it the Verizon Dodge seems like they are just throwing money to make the car red. I mean it seems like they'd be better just sticking with the Nationwide 12 like they do

It looks like the Dale Jr to RCR rumors are taking off like wildfire. There was a debate on Wind Tunnel the other night if this year is the last year of Junior's deal at HMS or next year is the last year. Regardless, contracts in racing are broken rather easily.

Since the RUMOR MILL is running at full throttle, here's another one.....General Motors just repaid the $8.1 billion loan back to the U.S. & Canadian governments.....Don't be surprised if their back in NA$CAR soon....Goodwrench #29 ???? maybe #33....Can't see them anywhere else than RCR......Don't ya love silly season...........

GM Goodwrench left RCR long before the recession began.

They left at the end of the 2006 season....Domestic auto sales where already going into the tank....Which was the start of the recession as we know it now.....

I have always wondered why Verizon didnt just brand the car with it's FiOS service or one of their other services to get around what is an absurd ruling in the first place. As long as it was directly advertising their cellular service I think they could get by with it.

Why would Jr leave HMS voluntarily? Isn't HMS building/supplying him with his NNS equipment? As much as I like RCR over HMS why would he go to 'lesser' equipment himself?

Richard had said the black #3 is Jr's when and if he wants it. Until then no #3 in Cup.

You're right, and it's black.
But there's no black #3 in cup. How much longer RCR will continue to register for that number is anyone;s guess really.

Personally, I wouldn't want to be the driver of a RCR #3 Cup car.

I believe I read somewhere that Childress is going to hang on to it as long as nascar will allow him to or something like that.

How is this for stirring the pot?:

Harvick leaves RCR to join SHR for a third team with Bass Pro Shops as one primary sponsor.

Junior leaves HMS to go to RCR to drive the #3 Budweiser Chevy.

Kahne drives the #25 HMS car in 2011 and then jumps to the #5 in 2012.

Hendrick adds another young, up-and-comer to the drive the #25 in 2012.

I wouldn't count on Goodwrench on the hood of any car any time soon. They still owe the government 45 billion dollars and are almost 70 percent owned by the US government. Until GM pays off all their loans, starts making a decent profit, then maybe they might put money back into Nascar.

Harvick: Burned Bridges with RCR?: Richard Childress Racing has probably lost its faint chance to keep Kevin Harvick on the heels of Wednesday's devastating announcement that Shell/Pennzoil is moving to Penske Racing in 2011 to sponsor Kurt Busch in the Sprint Cup Series. RCR already faced a serious, uphill challenge in trying to retain Harvick, who is in the final year of his contract, even if it had managed to hold onto Pennzoil, sponsor of Harvick's #29 since 2007. Harvick, according to multiple sources reached by SI.com but never confirmed by the driver, wanted out of RCR at the end of last season, but team owner Richard Childress held him to the contract. The duo came out strong out of the gate this season -- they led the points after five races and are currently fourth, 141 behind Jimmie Johnson -- but the sour feelings between the two haven't changed. "Kevin has burned all his bridges here," said a source requesting anonymity following the news of Shell's departure. The source reiterated the chances of Childress and Harvick dissolving their marriage were close to 100%. Harvick is the top free agent driver on the market. His preferred destination is Stewart-Haas Racing, where he'd have Hendrick equipment. Tony Stewart is on the record as wanting to expand to three cars next season, dependent upon sponsorship. With Harvick to sell and the broad range of commercial possibilities available through the team's partner-like association with Hendrick, Stewart-Haas has far greater ability to find a sponsor for Harvick. Kasey Kahne's decision to join Rick Hendrick's organization in 2012 has led to widespread speculation that he'll be at Stewart-Haas in 2011. Kahne certainly will be in Hendrick equipment next season and it's the logical place. The other possibility would be for Hendrick to ask Mark Martin to vacate the #5 a year early to go to Stewart-Haas. In either situation, it would require Stewart-Haas to run four cars in 2011. That 's not beyond the team's reach and it's where Stewart wants to get eventually.(Sports Illustrated), so which team would be better?
Hendrick: Gordon, Johnson, Earnhardt Jr. & Martin...or
Stewart Haas: Stewart, Newman. Kahne & Harvick?(4-22-2010)
