Dont foget about the 7 and 1 teams losing sponsership..

This maybe the sign of a shakeup at Petty Enterprises that Richard Petty himself hinted at.

Here's the goods on Scott Maxwell

Toronto sports car driver Scott Maxwell has been signed to drive the #43 Cheerios Dodge for Petty Enterprises at the NASCAR Winston Cup race at Watkins Glen Aug. 10. The low-key Maxwell, who has a long and distinguished career in the sports car racing world, already has tested in the legendary #43 machine at Virginia International Speedway. Another test is planned for Thursday at Road Atlanta. Maxwell's championship pedigree includes winning titles in Formula Vee (1984), Ontario Formula Ford 1600 (1985 and 1986), Showroom Stock (1992 and 1993) and GARRA Cup GSI (2002). The highlight for Maxwell's career, however, came at Le Mans in 2000 when he took victory in the LMP 675 class for Multimatic Motorsports with John Graham and Greg Wilkins. Maxwell's other major sports car triumphs include winning the LMP 675 class at Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta in 2001 as well as the Daytona Prototype victory at this year's Daytona 24 Hour.(Toronto Sun), more info about Maxwell, see his bio at the panozmotorsports.com site

Just heard that Terry is about to resign with Hendrick for another year or so, and Kelloggs will re-up for another 3 years.

Mayfield may not be getting the boot, Rumors of him resigning are frequently arising...

Of course DEI will lose Pennzoil. Kraft may take over as the primary sponsor for the #1 DEI Chevrolet. No, Sam Hornish Jr. is no longer considered for the DEI role. Joe Gibbs Racing is offering defending champ Tony Stewart a contract extension; no word if Stewart will re-sign or not.

No news as to If Ward Burton is staying or going to the #30 car, or something else, and maybe Scott Wimmer might take over the #22.

I love Silly Season, to know who goes where, who retires, who's doing horrible enough to go back to Trucks. Besides, it gives me a head start to start paintin cars for the computer game.

My source at the local watering hole sez...Larry Foyt will replace that guy in the 8 car...Dale something or another.... :p

I think Tony Stewart will stay with Gibbs, funny how about a year ago there was talk of Home Depot wanting to get ride of Tony due to his anger management issues...funny how things change.
