I got Sirius satelite for christmas and love it.....i know nascar is on XM for this year but will switch to Sirius in 2007..which is one reason why i went with Sirius.

who has XM and who has Sirius?

if you have XM now...will you switch to Sirius with nascar?

just curious.

We were goimg to get XM, was looking at them when NASCAR made the announcement of the switch, so we just decided to wait. The ONLY thing I want is the NASCAR programming so there's no point getting it before.

the NFL coverage on sirius rocks ...if they do half as good on the Nascar stuff as they do with the NFL...you'll be happy.

I get sirius free (?) on my dish satellite.. I have it linked to my intercom and have constant music throughout the house.. It is great! When in my vehicle I only listen to talk.. Never music.. I like to know what them folks are talking about on any particular day.

Well we have XM on our DirecTV but they don't let you listen to the NASCAR channels on it.
You can also get XM on the internet for 1/2 the price, but again you can't get the NASCAR channel. :(

Why the heck would i want to pay for radio?

my dad thought the same thing....but i got him hooked on mine...i think he's gonna get one now haha.

right now im listening to a Jimmy Buffett Concert replay..cant get that on regular radio!

I have XM Satellite Radio on DirecTV. Too bad Nascar won't be on it this year. Oh well. At least I can still watch it on TV. And the XM Radio won't be as useless since I listen to the music station, The System, which I really like.

First let me say that I've had XM since 2001 and love it.

Sat Radio is WAY more than NASCAR. 100% Commercial Free Music Channels + talk(including Ohpra for the wife), news, comedy, local traffic and weather, baseball and other sports programming. XM has deeper playlists and less repetition then Sirius.

NASCAR is something you WATCH on TV. Have you ever listened to NASCAR on the radio? It's annoying at best. I can count the number of times I listened to NASCAR on XM on one hand. That's over the coarse of 4.5 years! What I DO frequently listen to are the various NASCAR related talk shows on XM. To me, these are more important then listening to the actual race.

XM recently signed Dale Jr and Jimmie Johnson to host shows. While I am not a fan of either, I think these types of shows will be good and something I'd actually tune into.

As for the comment about not paying for radio. How many of you don't have cable(or sat) tv? People originally said that nobody would pay for tv. They were wrong.

For anyone that's on the fence, just pick up the equipment and sign up. Bestbuy and CC may even have some of the under $20 receivers left. The $12.95 is a small fee to pay for all of the entertainment you'll receive. Heck, I save that much not having to buy CD's anymore.
