Has this ever happened before? Skinner crashed in the first practice and had to go to a backup car, qualified the back up car and put it on the pole!

He still starts from the back though, right?

As long as he races the car he qualifies he starts on the pole. :bounce: :bounce:

As long as they don't make an engine change.

bowtie is right. It's the same thing that Scott Riggs did here at the Texas race in March. Crashed his primary car in practice before qualifying. Qualified the backup right out of the hauler on the pole!

As long as they don't change the engine, he starts on the pole!

That's a good deal by that team to ba able to use the backup to get a pole!

Congrat to the 01 team

Too bad it didnt last long... Skinner wrecked the backup car in Practice #2, so the #01 team is shipping a car from Charlotte and will be starting from the back.

Man is that car jinxed at Richmond or what !!

At least they still get credit for the pole and Mike will be in the shoout otu in Daytona! That is if he finds a ride.

Funny that both Boris Said and Mike Skinner, both temporary replacements for Jerry Nadeau, have scored poles in the #01 car. Will the #01 team fork over 2 cars for the Bud Shootout? One to Said and the other to Skinner?

I think that Boris will be running a Jasper car in the Shootout! More than likely the #67!

IF he does not get thta ride I am pretty sure if needed Boris and Mike could run cars from MBV/2. One could run in the #01 and the other could run the #10. Elgiblity goes by driver so if they can find a ride with whatever team they can race it in the shootout
