Mike Skinner was already in California, enjoying a vacation before this weekend's NASCAR Winston Cup race at Infineon Raceway, when he got the bad news.

So much for the vacation. Skinner and his wife, Angie, flew back to their home in Florida on Monday afternoon after Skinner learned he was released from the Morgan-McClure Motorsports ride.
