Jayski.com reports that Smirnoff Ice will be going to the 29 Chevrolet of Kevin Harvick next year. It'll be a run on just a limited basis like 7 or 8 races like it did with the 17 team this year.

I wish Sminoff Ice would go to RCR but to the 03 car so Steve Park can have a ride and sponser

Let's hope they change their mind after last weekend's extra curricular activity in the pit area. Smirnoff likes to promote 'drinking responsibly'...not sure if I'd consider what happened responsible adult behavior.

Why are they even leaving the 17 team in the first place?

A lot of sponsers are leaving Jack Roush Racing. Citgo is leaving becuase Jack Roush hasnt paid them in 4 years of sponsering the car.

Jack Roush doesnt pay for any of the sponsers that comes aboard thats why a lot of sponser are leaving. becuase if Roush signs Eli Lilly, Pfizer company might pull their sponsership.

Boy, I had this sponsorship thing all wrong. I always thought that the sponsor paid the car owner to attach their logo to the hood of the car?

Well, wlfyk does have his sources

Sponsors pay to be on the cars. It's a form of advertising. The better the car runs, the more visibility your sponsor expects to get. Teams use the money they get from sponsors to help pay for racing operations.

Anyway, I don't understand why smirnoff would be leaving matt kenseth seeing that Matt Kenseth is winning the championship this year and will probably be a contender again next year.

 Especially since I heard that Citgo is tied with all these communist South American governments. (I got this from the guy on the other site I used to post at that thought Ricky Rudd took out Harvick on purpose last week to help Matt.) Citgo should have tons of $$$ to help out the #99 team.

Gee, I always thought CITGO owned those Chemical Weapons Plants in Syria

I think the reason Smirnoff Ice would make such a move is because Harvick is more likely to appeal to their core audience than Kenseth. When people look at Kenseth, they don't think of him as a drinker, but Kevin's behavior sometimes imitates someone who's drunk.

And I'm hearing this from a guy who's second favorite driver Jeff Green crashes every weekend. I believe that.

This is the funniest thread I've read in a long time.
More like the most incoherent.

I've been thinking that maybe some of the posters are a little too fond of that Smirnoff Ice. :D

Nah, I'm more found of Kentucky bourbon...but Smirnoff Ice isn't that bad! :)

All the sudden, I wonder if the 29 and 17 teams will have to pay Smirnoff Ice to be on the hood (wink*wink)
