No, not him. All the magic smoke leaked out of my moniter last night. Sumbeech started a'blazin' too. What a stink, I've got COPD and breathing that crap wasn't helping any. I've carried a Leatherman for umpteen years, cut both cables grabbed it and put it in the tub where it got a shower.
By now every smoke alarm is going off and the house full of plastic floaty things. My neighbor heard it and called 911. Rescue runs with every fire call and that O2 was the sweetest ever.

Spent the night at a local hotel, registered as Mr. and Mrs. Smith:D caught flak for that:(

But I do have a new 21" flat screen today. House still stinks.

Damn, SST --- glad to hear you're OK. Bless rescue and their O2. Very happy the fire was out before the O2 got on the scene.

Very glad your neighbor hit the panic button for you.

And now my nose itches because I know exactly what stink you're talking about.

ROTFL @ Mr/Mrs Smith. She'll get you for that.

It was a Dell CRT that came with the computer 7 years ago, a 14 inch? With the exception of a occasional power outage it was never turned off, only went into the hibernation mode.
New one is another Dell just because of price. A 20 inch flat screen LCD $149.99 @ Best Buy.

My wife just ordered 250 :)eek:), yes 250 computers from Dell and in the next order one will be for us at her company's cost. I'll stick this one in my shop,,,then I'll never get anything done,,:D

House still has that lingering burnt plastic smell, every window is open, every fan running wide open.

Glad you're OK. I know that smell. It's awful! When my oldest daughter was young, she tried to mask that she had her light on so she could read, so she piled a bunch of socks and underwear on top of her lamp. Kids' stuff is flame repellant, thank goodness, but the things turned all brown and what a smell! Plus, the weather was not warm. I had to bring all 3 kids downstairs, shut the door to the upstairs and open the windows. Good thing I had a port-a-crib for my son. I was really worried about him since he had asthma and had been hospitalized before he was a year old. I sure can relate regarding breathing issues! Hope the smell goes away sooner than later for you!
