For the truck race I think it def goes to Ron Hornaday for taking a torn up truck and winning the race.

I would give an "atta-boy" to both Bowyer and Busch for the great race they put on. Hearing Clint talk about how much fun it is to race against a guy like Kyle was quite interesting - especially after Clint said, after finishing second to Pee Wee in an earlier truck race, "I hate losing to that little pipsqueak!".

To make up for my complaint about traffic, and since this is complimenting good moves:

The Baltimore Convention Center. This is the life.

Kevin Harvick for his amazing save on that restart which could've took out a bunch of cars.

Tony Stewart for coming from 8th to 3rd at the end.

Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon for putting on a great race and dirt tracking it those final laps.

That Harvick save was pretty cool. Especially when he dropped it in 4th right after he got it straightened away.

JJ and Jeff driving sideways side-by-side for the last few laps, and never touching.

The "I ran out of talent right there" move of the race was Mark Martin forgetting how long his car is and flat out turning Regan Smith.

Montoya gets the Steve Wallace award IMHO of course.

Difference is montoya has some talent and knows what he's doing while wallace on the other hand......

Smooth move of the race has to go to Jeff Gordon for getting career win #85 in the modern era (which IMO is a more difficult accomplishment than Petty's 200 wins). Jeff Gordon can drive :beerbang:

I think J & J for putting on yet another Atlanta memorable finish.

Also a shout out to the 29,700 fans in attendance. Probably most were locals but for those of you that stuck this thing out. :beerbang:

Yep. There is a HUGE momentum difference between high and low coming off the corner at Atlanta. Bowyer should have been more patient and finished the pass in the next turn.

That's what I thought too, looked like Bowyer just came down on Montoya too quickly. Bowyer says other wise, but IMO it was his fault. I'd give the smooth move to Stewart for moving all the way to third.

I would have to give the award to Happy Harvick for his amazing save on that late restart. Imagine the carnage had he not kept it straight!

The "In Car" from that incident showed everything butt the butt clenching!

Great Job Happy!

Perhaps an in-car sphincter clamping display is in order. It will give the announcers something new to talk about. "He's hard on that sphincter muscle coming out of 4. Now we know how he's holding onto it".

Owwwww, there's to many variables in the sphincter muscle sensor......don't forget the name of the thread is "Smooth move of the race"

I just wanted to say that Gordon is the smoothest driver in Nascar. You almost never see him putting his car in a bad spot or getting himself in trouble.

Unless JJ can make him. ;) JJ is pretty smart and patient too. It's a quality I'm seeing in Kez, with perhaps an extra dose of timely aggression. He's learned to save it for the end of the race when it really pays off.

I have always considered Gordon Johnson and Stewart to be three of the best "pure" drivers in NASCAR. Everyone, bashed Johnson, but he showed yesterday of how he is capable of handeling a race car!

For years I've been telling everyone the Atlanta track puts on some Damn Good Racing!!!
I guess it took a lotta rain and a slick trck to really show it off. PLEASE don't let them repave Atlanta any time soon.

Johnson, Gordon and Stewart all gained a lil in my book for hangin it out and holdin on! Great to watch!
