Kyle Busch and Steve Wallace Disqualified at Snowball Derby: Steven Wallace and Kyle Busch's cars were both disqualified in post-qualifier tech after initially making it into the field. Kyle Busch wasn't too happy. He was tossed from the event due to a height infraction. Both Busch and Steven Wallace were very irate in the pit area and told Speed51.com that they are displeased with Ricky Brooks (head tech inspector) and his philosophies. Steven Wallace was found to be light when crossing the scales after tech. They let the team roll off the scales and roll back on. During that time he was caught trying to put sockets in his pockets.(Speed51.com)(12-2-2007)

seriously? or is this joke?

Sometimes it is difficult to take "children" seriously, and I don't mean officials of the Snowball Derby.

you know, I'm beginning to wonder if the "children" will ever grow up.

The part about putting sockets in his packet is classic. I've heard of a pocket rocket.......

Seriously though, this is nothing new to short track racing. Not trying to legitimize cheating, or griping about it, but racers have been doing stuff like this for years. Camoflauging a lead weight as a role of duck tape, or as a helmet. stuffing their pockets for added weight. Heck, even knowing they were gonna be light after a race, drivers have swing by a pit crew member for some extra goodies so they might make wieght.

My point about "children", and I also think TRL's point was.................

Now remember;

Neither one of these guys build there own cars, so if its to light or to high, its hardly there fault, the socks in the pocket is a bit of a crack up, my Grandsons race Carts, and they have little bags of lead shot in there pockets to make weight, but there only 2 lbs each, if Walace was that close, I bet he was pissed. LOL Duane

If he was that close to making weight maybe he shouldn't have pissed. A full bladder may have put him over...

You could sit here all day and hear stories about people making weight.
Ive seen crew members stuffing tools in the ****pit and everything. Ive heard of people in Dirt Late Models getting a crew members to climb up under the car and hang onto the bars while the car rolled across the scales. People can come up with some crazy stuff.

if they would just spend all that time figuring out how to be faster within the rules instead of playing the weight game they wouldnt have this problem. Saying the drivers didnt know this about the car isnt an excuse to me either. If they built it or not for something like the snowball derby they should go over every inch of that car themselves so they know whats going on. I know they dont have to do that in nascar but the snowball derby aint nascar they gota do some work to make sure everything is where it needs to be.
