So If JJ Does Wrap It Up Today-

I haven't been interested in the last 2+. Call it overload or whatever. There was a time not all that long ago my wife would have to put a gun to my head to get me away from a race on tv. I no longer go out of my way to make time. I'll watch if I've nothing better to do and if so I'll DVR it for later.

I'm into woodworking now and I'd rather spend time being productive in my little shop than a couch potato.

I dont know if iv watch 5 races flag to flag over the past 2-3 years. I'll watch Daytona 500, and will try to watch Dega. But orther then that i dont watch much NASCAR anymore.

Nope, don't care.

The Chase consists of big tracks and 1 whole short track, and I'm not much interested in those. Too much pagentry and bs and not enough racing.

Homestead's a good race but they focus too much on the champion and not enough on the race winner. If they want it to be exciting, make it so the highest finishing Chaser at Miami wins the championship.

So many good finishes at Miami with no emphasis on a winner because they're yappin' for 4 hours about Jimmie Johnson. And ESPN is so much worse about this than NBC was.

That's about the stupiest thing i have heard.

33 races into the season. 11 won by Gibbs. 8 each by Roush and Hendrick. 3 by RCR, 2 by Penske and 1 by GEM. (If my cyferring is right :p)
3 teams or maybe better said 3 organizations have won 27 out of 33 races. You don't need a Ph.D to see where this is going. Smaller, less funded teams won't be able to survive. We're going to end up with Morgan Sheppard, no offense to him, starting every race just to fill the field, running 5 laps and then pulling into the garage.

I guess that's why my interest isn't what it used to be.

To be honest when i see its another mile and half track coming up i find myself looking for a football or baseball game to keep me entertained. Dont get me wrong i love road courses, restrictor plate, and short track races. But it seems theres just so many mile and a half tracks and its always the same Jimmie Johnson has something happen to him at the start of the race and by the last 5 laps hes in contintion to win. To sum it up the mile and half tracks are good at the start and usually at the end but the 2 hours in between seem to go on forever.

The race is on in the background while I'm on the computer. I'll turn around and watch parts of it if I hear something interesting. It's about to start so I'll watch the first couple of laps.

I watch racing to watch racing. I can go to any track and enjoy the racing whether I know who is racing or it's a Cup race. Yes, it's interesting to follow the leader and see who wins the championship, but to me, each and every race is an event in itself. The biggest problem with viewing the Cup series on TV is they accentuate those in the Chase. If the front five or six cars were not in the Chase, the cameras would still be on those first two or three cars of the Chase. This is really what NASCAR and the networks want. Emphasize the Chase.

I had to go back up and see what Lappy was responding to because I seldom read Andy's posts and replies. Especially when the first words are negative.

Me too Buckaroo. I sort of skip over that stuff. So I had to go back and see too.

The last two reaces? heck, I haven't watched in 2 weeks...gave up. Nascar has lost me, they've become so boring t's no longer any fun.

It really has become somewhat like baseball in that it goes along boringly, and then something happens. If you aren't watching, you'll miss it. If only they would race like there were only two laps to go.

Then I guess I'll miss it, cause I have no plans on watching it:rolleyes:
