So Long Marcos

Marcus just didn't hit on the right ride at the right time . Not much different than Ryan Newman . Only Ryan has hit a streak of luck that hopefully will land him a championship and a great deal of respect . Could just as easily have been Marcus .

Hate to see Marcos go, it was fun while he was here. Best of luck to him over in Australia next year.

Marcos represents NASCAR and his country well. I follow drivers from other series that try NASCAR and Marcos did better than most. I wish he had a better ride because I wanted to see him get a win on an oval. Road courses just won't be the same without him. My favorite memory is Marcos and Kyle driving to the max.

For a driver coming from a totally different racing background, he had more success than most others do. Don't forget in addition to his 2 Cup wins, he also won 5 times in Nationwide.

He did alright if you ask me, and he was always exciting and entertaining to watch.

6 of those 7 wins came at Watkins Glen.

Marcos is one of my favorite drivers... probably because he doesn't take himself or racing too seriously. Not that he's not serious on the track, but it's like he knows nothing about what he does is earth shattering... the future of life as we know it doesn't hang on whether he wins a race or not. I have the impression he races for the sheer fun of it and would be tradin' paint, whether he was gettin' paid for it or not.

Perhaps a few of his NASCAR competitors could learn a lesson from him...

I'm going to miss the guy, it's quite a shame. At the same time I'm happy that he will be back with his family back in Australia. He has a lot of talent to do what he has done and was more successful than many other drivers in other racing disciplines over the years.

I wanted to see him and Aric in the chase, but things don't always come to fruition. Good luck to this man, I hope he gets in the swing of things in V8 Supercars.

They were talking on tv about how much he has brought to the sport. ummmmmmm ok?

He's a great road racer and a really nice guy but...

Well done Marcos. You gave it your best shot and made all of us Aussies proud. At least you are still regarded as a good guy who gave the best with what you had been given. I am certain that a lot of oval track boys are racing better and harder now on road courses than before you started. That may be one thing, Lisa.

Best of luck.

Thought he stayed in NASCAR a few years too long. Hope he didn't waste too much time while he could have been kicking ass elsewhere.

How is someone who punches people in the face regarded as a good guy?

1st thought will always be him unable to restart car saving gas. 2nd he was fun to watch on road course.
