Along with Charlotte, Monaco and Indy, some great short track races as well. PASS South at Caraway on Friday, Bowman Gray's Sportsman spectacular on Saturday, Memorial Day Classic at Franklin County Speedway on Monday. :bounce:

Looks like I'll be going to Caraway, Orange County or Shenandoah Valley and Franklin County this weekend.

Racing's Greatest Weekend.

LOL. Nice little bookends there.

I think I may race out to beer store on Saturday while the NNS is happening (just keeping it Nascar related)

Couple of good weekends in Minnesota coming up. K&N Pro Series west at the road course in Brainerd this weekend and ARCA in Elko the following week. I'll just stay out that way for a week. Check out the mall of America and whatever else there is to see in that AREA

ARCA has completely flooded my inbox with press releases about the Akona 250.

Yeah, they are going a little crazy today. They arent even all about the Akona 250, I have ones about Pocono, Michigan and Chicagoland all from today. I like how ARCA proofreads the emails they send out as well. It wasnt sent today, but I recently had an email from them that mentioned Tom Hessert is from Cherry Hill, Jew Jersey lol

You would really love the emails from the X-1R Pro Cup Series then.

I remember when that series was the Hooters Pro Cup Series. X-1R sounds like it should be a racing series for futuristic gas turbine hover craft.

Hooters Pro Cup was awesome. Shame after the founder of Hooters died they just killed it all. Killed a great series and a great track (USA International Speedway). They might as well put the series out of its misery, its nothing more than a complete joke these days.

I saw on their website they are giving away 20,000 tickets to the Motor Mile (Radford VA) race. LOL

I live about 45 miles from that track - I wouldn't go to that race if you paid me to.

I wouldn't either. I wonder what the deal with that race is anyway. Are they going to charge for parking or something? They have to be doing something to bring in some $$$

I imagine the track will gain anything they lose from the 40+ Late Models that show up to their races.

those hooter Pro Cup races they had on tv were a lot of fun to watch. Kinda like the old ASA races they had on TNN, couldn't wait for them to come on. We had the JEGS CRA series come to our track over the weekend, that was a fun series to watch, had never seen them before. Reminded me of the old ARTGO Series. I love some good asphalt late model races.

The PASS South series is so much fun. Best show on asphalt right now. And it looks like a whole lot of people are going to show up to Franklin County Speedway. I went down there earlier this week to help them get ready.

Do you live in the upper midwest? I'm from Wisconsin, used to watch a lot of ASA/ARTGO back in the day.

No I live in MO. I-44 speedway is my home track, and the Artgo series used to come down here quite a bit.

Lebanon I-44 Speedway? BIG race coming up there in a few weeks with the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West on a Sunday night.

Yeah, I am looking forward to that show. Never seen that series before other than on tv.

Pretty much the best stock car short track series around. They rarely disappoint! Should be a great show!

Last year, Virginia Motor Speedway had a deal with the drivers with free tickets, with whoever brought in the most fans (for free) got a set of tires. It worked, with many of the fans that came for free coming back for the rest of the year.

Hmmm. Good idea.

As far as I'm concerned there are 1100 miles of great racing this Sunday - best weekend :D.

The 500 and the 600....Wooo Yeah Baby !!

Went to the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race at Brainerd. Good race, good visibility for a road course. The crowd made the ARCA race at Palm Beach look good! I think me and my dad were the only people there that actually came out for the NASCAR race. There were some people there, but clearly they were friends/family of the amateur drag racimg and amateur SCCA race that was also going on. By the end of the race there was less than 10 people in the bleachers i was sitting in . Might be a sucessful event with the drag racing and SCCA but K&N brougbt no spectators. That race isnt even televised. It was the second consecutive year of it. I cant imagine K&N will return again...
