So, what's Robby going to do? Start a cup team and have a busch team? Or just one or the other? I vote for a two team Busch operation with Fruit of the Loom on one car and Red Bull on the other. If he does move up to cup, I hope Either of those sponsors goes with him or even both. I know Red Bull does his Baja truck and is on his helmet, I think it would be good. Also, he has a mess of associates on the 55 right now. What do you other RG Fans think?

i think i heard yesterday on fox sports that he is going to be an owner/driver in the busch series

WELCOME, N.C. (Oct. 26, 2004) – Richard Childress Racing (RCR) and Robby Gordon will part ways at the conclusion of the 2004 season, with Gordon stepping up to the ranks of NASCAR Cup Series ownership in 2005.

“Several months ago Robby told me that his goals included running his own NASCAR Cup Series team,” said Richard Childress, president and CEO of Richard Childress Racing. “He has won three points races, a qualifying race at Daytona and has had a lot of good runs for RCR since 2001, but sometimes change is good. Robby is a true racer and I will always be grateful to him for what we’ve been able to accomplish together and for the positive things he brought to our organization. I’ve always said that Robby is one of the most talented drivers out there and he has always gone above and beyond for our sponsors.

this came from robbys web page

i wonder how long it will take for his team to be competitive in the cup series

I would guess he'll probably spin out 25 or 30 more times in the last three races.

Admittedly, Robby isn't my very favorite, but give him a break!!!
He IS a good race driver. Not all of his spins were of his doing. I am not saying
some weren't, but all drivers have their day.
I personally wish Robby the best and hope for success for his future.

Richard Childress likes him and that means a lot!!!
