Solar car race at TMS

Several local high school teams (including some not far from here) are having a solar car race, see who can complete the most laps at Texas Motor Speedway in 96 hours.

My question- Is this now like the sports car endurance races, and even a few seconds in a driver change, and how many driver changes you make, can make a difference?

I saw this on the news last night. Some of those "vehicles" are so strange. LOL

And, yes, I guess how quickly the drivers can change will make a difference.
