Ran across a listing of what is being reported as some of the F1 drivers salary figures for 2003. The listing is in euros, so if you're curious the exchange rate right now is one euro equals 1.09755 USD. For general purposes 1:1 is close enough. Also should say that the comma in these listings is the same as a decimal point.

Michael Schumacher 45 millions Euros
Jacques Villeneuve 13 millions Euros
Ralf Schumacher 11 millions Euros
Juan Pablo Montoya 9 millions Euros
David Coulthard 8 millions Euros
Rubens Barrichello 7 millions Euros
Giancarlo Fisichella 5,5 millions Euros
Jenson Button 5 millions Euros
Jarno Trulli 4,8 millions Euros
Kimi Raikkonen 4,5 millions Euros
Olivier Panis 4 millions Euros
Cristiano Da Matta 2 millions Euros
H.H. Frentzen 1,5 millions Euros
Mark Webber 1,4 millions Euros
Nick Heidfeld 1,3 millions Euros
Fernando Alonso 1,2 millions Euros
Jos Verstappen 800.000 Euros
Antonio Pizzionia 600.000 Euros
Ralph Firman 500.000 Euros
Justin Wilson 300.000 Euros

Damatta proably got paid more in CART!! Never thought i would say that!!
Why in the world would Shumi need to get paid more than 3 times the next highest paid driver!!! Yes I know he is good but i think he could take a pay cut and the money be used for something eles!

What do they need to spend the extra money on? They have the best cars so it's not like they need the money for R&D.

What else should they spend it on? Rubens is happy as a pig in you know what with his contract so it's not that they should give it to him.

From what I recall in the past Schumacher's numbers are very much in line with other F1 top dogs.

As to Da Matta, I have no idea what CART drivers are paid.

His salary is fine, nothing out of the ordinary with it at all...other than the fact that it's not me making it.

Compare those salaries to the odds of them winning in Australia. How much would you pay?
